Fundamental rules

According to statistics, the bathroom is the most dangerous place in terms of electrification. To protect it, you must use the following measures:

• additional protective grounding, protective conductor PE;
• the use of RCDs and special differential switches;
• when conducting wiring and light in the bathroom with your own, you need to use only the hidden type of cable wiring;
• place electrical appliances (sockets, lamps) at a distance of 2.5 meters from the taps and the bathroom.

As luminaires, only low-voltage models, preferably daylight, should be used. In some cases, it is allowed to install lamps with a power of 220 V, but only subject to additional grounding of the contacts. The best place to place such devices is above the doorway, where water ingress is minimized.

Carry out wiring

There are two types of wiring: hidden and outdoor. The first option is safer, the second one is simple to execute, and is optimal for broaching temporary wiring, placing sconces at the mirror, or a hinged lamp at the entrance.

To pull the cables in the bathroom, only special plastic pipes are used, to which the splitters are connected to output the contacts of the wires to sockets or lamps.

It is especially important to completely seal the junction of the wires and use cables and devices with increased moisture protection, from an indicator of 67 and above.

What lighting to choose

To create a bright and at the same time safe light, halogen lamps are often used, they are small in size, easily mounted and made of materials protected from corrosion.

In order to make spot lighting in the bathroom with your own hands, you need to calculate the number of lamps and the local voltage on the ceiling and walls. Using the parallel method of connecting the conductors (connecting the cables from one lamp to another), we connect the spotlights to the circuit. The circuit of these devices is easy to install, switching is used at three points: zero, ground and phase.

On average, six spotlights in a small room will be enough.

Proper lighting of the bathroom mirror can visually increase the space if it is small. In this case, you need to place LED spotlights around the entire perimeter of the mirror, and hold an additional halogen tape over it.

A good option is to install rotary spotlights, when using such devices it is convenient in the right time to focus on light or walls, which will help to make the bathroom space visually more.

If the design of the room allows, then place one flat fluorescent lamp on the ceiling. It will help to make uniform light throughout the room, and with the right design will be an excellent addition to the interior.
