Parquet is a high-quality and durable floor covering that significantly increases the status of housing, making it more presentable and stylish. Durability directly depends on the quality and characteristics of the materials from which it is made. Some materials do not withstand heavy loads and do not repel moisture, and therefore over time they may lose their original characteristics - visual and technical.
Types of parquet board
The most common form of this flooring is piece parquet. It consists of planks made of solid wood having the same thickness, length and width. Most often, the lengths of piece parquet vary in the range from 20 to 50 cm. In this case, it all depends on the area of the room, its purpose and functionality.
Another variety is a massive board, the length of which is from 200 to 250 cm. Its surface can be varnished or oil painted, which will maximize the adaptation of the coating to the overall interior of the room and extend its life.
The third type is called thyroid. Most often, the boards are square in shape and consist of a large number of layers. The top layer is made of valuable wood, and the substrate can be made of coniferous raw materials. The middle layers are responsible for sound and thermal insulation.
Which package is not worth choosing
No need to choose parquet made from non-natural materials. Such a floor covering will not last long and may release harmful chemicals into the atmosphere. It is not worth saving and choosing a floor covering that imitates parquet, because saving in this case is impractical and may soon lead to additional financial expenses.
Regardless of the material of manufacture of the floorboard, you should be careful about caring for it. It is forbidden to wet the parquet and use aggressive cleaning agents during the cleaning process, which can damage its structure and soak into the pores of the tree.
Competent and thorough care will help maintain the flooring in a well-groomed condition and significantly extend its service life. As a care, you can use varnish or special oil that protects the parquet from negative external factors. The use of oil is environmentally friendly, however, such coverage must be regularly updated - at least once every three months.
