How to make a smooth crate of timber

The lathing is a structure made of a wooden beam and a metal profile, which is mounted around the entire perimeter of the room. Based on the mass of the finishing material, the thickness of the beam should be chosen. For the implementation of interior decoration, it is best to choose a small section beam. A prerequisite is the moisture content of the timber, which should not exceed 15%.

Installation is carried out by fastening the beam to the wall using screws. The mounting step should be no more than 2.5 cm. In places of wall irregularities, a pre-prepared board can be placed under the timber. If hay has bulges, then the beam can be grinded. In places where the crate bends around a window or doorway, it must be obligatory chipped around the entire circle.

The joints are endowed with a gap of 2-3 mm in case of swelling of the wood.

The final stage includes the strengthening of intermediate rails. The step is determined depending on what material will be attached to the crate. For example, for drywall, it is a multiple of approximately half of the mounted sheet. For panels, a multiple of one sheet will suffice. Intermediate rails, unlike the frame, has less rigidity. This avoids deformation processes.
