Make candles with your own hands from stearin, paraffin or wax. Paraffin is easiest to work with, so it is recommended to start with it. You can get it from the remnants or whole household candles of white color.

Stearin can be siphoned from laundry soap. To do this, a piece of soap should be cut with a knife or grated on a coarse grater. Then it is necessary to fill in the resulting shavings with water in a metal bowl. Next, the container is placed in a water bath to melt the material. After removing from heat, a little vinegar will need to be added to the mass. After cooling down, a thick mass is collected that accumulates on the surface. Excess moisture from stearin thus obtained is removed with a clean cloth.

A mouline thread or thick cotton thread serves as a wick in improvised candles. Synthetic materials should not be used, as they emit an unpleasant odor and melt very quickly. Of the ordinary household candles that were used to produce paraffin, you can also take the right wick.

Capacities for creating candles can be used different. The shape of the finished product will depend on them. A plastic ball, for example, is suitable for creating round candles. The composition is poured through a hole made from above. Melt the raw materials in a water bath.

To color the candles, you can use both natural ingredients and wax crayons, as well as food colors. Do not use water or alcohol paints. To give a certain aroma and decoration of candles, additional materials will be required. The list of them can be continued indefinitely, since everything depends only on the imagination of the master. You can add essential oils or fragrance products, decorate the surface with sparkles or beads, and so on. Before adding colorants and flavors, the wick should be soaked with molten material.
