Vinyl wallpaper on a non-woven basis dries even longer - it will take them about five days. And wallpaper for painting must be allowed to dry for at least a week.

An open window provokes a draft, which in turn deforms not fully dried wallpaper. As a result, bumps, bubbles, folds and even peeling of the canvases from the wall may appear. And if you apply paint to the undersized non-woven wallpaper, then, being already heavy, they can crawl down after adding the weight of the paint.

To avoid this, you must adhere to a few simple rules.

1. Close windows at the time of wallpapering for the time necessary for drying, depending on their type.
2. It is impossible to artificially accelerate the drying period with a fan, radiator or similar devices. The air streams moved by them lead to uneven drying of the canvases.
3. Do not turn on the air conditioner or humidifier in the room until the drying period ends.

But how did some people manage to leave the windows open while gluing and avoid problems?

The fact is that in summer the temperature difference is not so large, and it may not affect the vinyl and non-woven types in any way. But it is better not to take risks and even wait in the summer for at least 24 hours before ventilating the renovated room.

At the same time, one should not go to extremes and keep windows closed in the entire apartment for the drying period. It is enough not to create a temperature difference directly in the room being repaired. Opening the door and entering this room is also possible if there is no draft in other rooms.
