- 1.3 Equipment breakdown
When painting any surface, the main task is to apply a uniform coating with minimal time. The pulverizer in this regard can be a great helper. To work with him, you do not need a lot of experience or special skills. It is enough to choose high-quality equipment, be able to use it, observe the technology of coating and work in good light. There are situations when the spray gun begins to “spit” paint. There can be many reasons, but all of them can be solved with a competent approach.
Why "spits" the atomizer: causes and solutions
Improperly prepared paint
In order for the spray gun to work correctly, it is important to properly prepare the paint before applying it. Many manufacturers produce materials of a sufficiently thick consistency, in which case they are diluted and filtered to remove lumps. The viscosity of a paint is considered normal if, after mixing, it drips in drops at intervals of about 1 second.
The best solution when preparing the paint will be strict adherence to the manufacturer's instructions, which is always on the can. Depending on the situation, the addition of an activator (hardener) or solvent may be required.
Errors when setting up the spray gun
To properly configure the equipment, it is recommended to follow the following algorithm.
- Prepare all materials and tools that may be required in the work.
- Prepare the paint in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations (the proportions are indicated on the can).
- Adjust the torch.
- Set the optimal pressure in order to adjust the intensity of the paint supply to the surface.
You can check the correctness of the setting by making a test coloring. On the color spot there should be no sharp transitions, drops, drips. Ideally, you need to get a round imprint, the ink supply should be uniform and continuous. The appearance of areas with a thicker layer of coatings is a sign of low pressure in the system.
Equipment breakdown
When applying paint, the spray can "spit" due to equipment malfunction. For example, in the absence of regular maintenance, blockages may appear in nozzles or in the air cap. Uneven paintwork may also result from the poor adjustment of the needle adjustment screw. Most breakdowns can easily be avoided by regularly cleaning the equipment to prevent clogging after use.
