Design a small apartment - what to look for?

The interior of small apartments is an important and rather complicated topic. Fashion magazines often publish great solutions for housing, but they are only suitable for spacious country houses and apartments. Ninety-nine percent of urban residents live in completely different conditions. Design projects for ordinary housing are often unprofitable for large agencies, so they simply do not undertake to work with them. As a result, owners have to come up with the design of an apartment on their own.

Several functions have to perform in small housing literally every room. A separate cabinet, living room, dining room area can not be allocated. It will be possible to prepare dinner without interruption from households or guests; everyone will have enough space in the spacious common area.

Owners of small apartments should not choose classic styles for decoration, replete with a large number of details and elements. A small area will seem even smaller. Forms should be chosen as simple as possible. Tapestries and velvet should give way to plain textiles. If there are shelves, they should not be filled “to the eyeballs”, if possible. The effect of cluttering up the premises can be avoided if at least part of the shelves remains empty or half empty. At the same time, the interior itself will become more sophisticated and interesting. Shelves and racks can be very diverse, their decor also needs to be paid attention.

Owners of small-sized apartments need to learn how to carry out general cleaning of trash. Anything that is not used for its intended purpose for some time should be removed from the premises.
