Thanks to the presence of glass, ultraviolet radiation is blocked, and the light that is for us visible, is converted thanks to a scanning electrode, and we get an image on screen.

REFERENCE. As noted, only three colors of lamps were used inside the equipment, but as a result of the level of the applied voltage, it turns out to display bright, multi-colored and saturated pictures on the screen.
