First, prepare the necessary devices. The following devices are required to digitize a video cassette:

  1. TV (suitable brand of any world brand).
  2. TV remote.
  3. VCR (better from well-known manufacturers).
  4. A flash drive (DVD).
  5. Videocassette.
  6. Cable, RCA Video Drive.
  7. Video player.

When all the necessary tools have been prepared, you can get down to business. Digitization is not too complicated. Therefore, it can be carried out not only by the master, but also by an ordinary person, a little familiar with the procedure and safety procedures.

Digitization of video tapes using a TV happens like this. All devices must be connected in the following order:

  • a TV antenna is connected to the VCR;
  • an S-video cable is used to connect the TV to the VCR (plugs are inserted into the antenna “sockets”);
  • they are connected to white and red “tulips” (Audio / Video connectors);
  • the VCR and video player are combined with white and red “tulips” (Audio / Video connectors are used);
  • a SCART cable is used to connect the video player to the TV (the connector is also called SCART).

How to record

Digitizing video tapes using a TVA blank DVD is inserted into the player. The cassette is in the VCR. The TV remote control turns on to enter the Menu. Some settings are made here:

  1. The source is the Antenna.
  2. Starts “Auto tuning. Analogue channels. "
  3. The “Play” button on the VCR is pressed.
  4. The Scan command is activated here.
  5. There is a “Record” button on the TV remote control and it starts.

If necessary, you can stop and rewind frames. Just later, again, you have to click on the buttons: “Play”, “Scan” and “Record”. The Start button is also launched on the video player.

At the end of the work, it is advisable to process the video. It can be color correction, frame processing. From the DVD-ROM, the frames are copied to a USB flash drive. Now the movie can be watched on any PC. It will be stored for as long as the author himself wishes.
