The touchpad is an analogue of a conventional computer mouse. The installation of this touchpad is explained by the peculiarity of mobile PCs.
At home, when the laptop can be stationary on the table, most users prefer to use a standard computer mouse. But in this case, the touchpad sometimes interferes with the work, so often the question arises: how to enable or disable the touchpad?
The developers were worried about the possibility of disabling this device: in devices there is a special button or the simultaneous pressing of several buttons. You do not need to use any separate applications or technical means.
Modern mobile computers have a small recess, which is located in the corner of the sensor mouse. This is the on / off key for the control panel on the laptop. By clicking on it 2 times, this device turns on or off. This is a pretty convenient feature, although this key is not at all on all laptop models.
On other devices, to activate, you need to press the combination of the Fn buttons and one of the "F" function keys. The Fn button is usually located on the keyboard in the left corner. Which specific “F” button you need to press can be determined by the characters printed on the keyboard surface, usually indicated in the same color as the Fn button.
Attention! For Sony devices, control can be activated by pressing the Fn + F1 combination. That is, you only need to press this key combination once to turn on the touch panel. When you reuse a combination, it will turn off again.
The touchpad activation sign, as a rule, is displayed in the form of a device’s touch panel - a rectangle with rounded corners (a picture in the form of a “platform”), at the bottom of which two small rectangles are drawn (similar to mouse keys) and at the top above the image is a cross, indicating "Enable / disable". But other images of touch control are possible, it depends on the model of the laptop and the manufacturer.
If, for certain reasons, it does not go out of the way to activate the control panel with a special key or a combination of buttons as described above, then this can be done using the BIOS settings.
To enter these settings, you must press the F2 or Delete button when booting the system. Most often, while turning on, a message appears on the bottom of the monitor which button to press specifically. We must not forget that this message is not on the screen for long. And you need to press the button exactly at the time the notification appears. Otherwise, you can’t get into the BIOS settings, you need to restart the device.
In the BIOS settings, you need to find the Pointing Device menu. Change the mode to Enabled if you want to enable the touch panel, or to Disabled to turn it off. After save and exit, so the changes will be active.
Do not forget that you need to be careful with the BIOS settings, especially if you do not understand why a certain setting is required.

In this case, in order to activate the sensor, it is necessary to enter the BIOS and turn on the “Internal Pointing Device” mode. Most often, this function is located in the Advanced menu.
If everything is correctly configured in the BIOS, in this case there are only two options: there is no necessary software or a breakdown of the touch panel.
