After all, you have to remove dirt not only from the outer surface, but also inside the device.

Folk remedies

Housewives are sometimes surprised to hear that the iron needs care inside. But there is nothing surprising in this. When using a household appliance, dust particles enter the appliance and accumulate on its internal surfaces. Very small holes are enough for dust to cover all the walls and the invisible part of the sole rather quickly. And then it becomes the cause of carbon deposits.

To get rid of dirt inside, we will take advantage of the fact that the design features allow water to be poured into the iron to steam the fabric. But for cleaning, you will not need water, but specially prepared compounds.

Method 1 - vinegar solution

• Mix equal parts vinegar with water.
• Pour into an iron placed vertically.
• We heat it up and leave it on for 10 minutes, without reacting to the switching on and off of the device.
• After 10 minutes, disconnect the device from the mains and turn on the "steam generation" option. At this time, we hold the iron over a bucket or basin: the steam and liquid coming out of it will be dirty.

Method 2 - citric acid solution

Using another solution is effective. It is prepared on the basis of citric acid.

Add citric acid (1 bag) to warm water (1 glass), stir until completely dissolved. Then they act according to the scheme described above.

Remember to rinse the inside surfaces with clean water as well as clean the outside of the holes! And be sure to let the appliance dry properly after you finish washing.

Method 3 - hydrogen peroxide

When using this tool, we will not prepare the solution.

• A napkin is moistened in peroxide and wiped on a cold surface.
• Use cotton swabs, also dipped in peroxide, to remove dirt in the holes.

Advice. In case of severe contamination, a napkin made of natural fabric is abundantly moistened with peroxide. The iron is placed vertically, a cloth is placed on the sole, and left for 2-3 hours. Then wipe with another cloth soaked in clean water, and iron the unnecessary cloth.

There is another way to clean the inner surface. But if women can easily cope with the described above, then in this case it will be necessary to involve men in the work. The fact is that you will have to disassemble the iron, opening access to its internal volume.

• Separate the sole by unscrewing the connecting parts.
• Remove dust with a dry cloth or brush.
• Prepare a hot citric acid solution as above.
• Pour the solution into the reservoir to clean it.
• Soak a cloth in the remaining solution and wipe the sole.
• Rinse everything with clean water.
• Dry the parts, assemble the iron.

Chemicals that can be used

In addition to proven folk remedies, you can use special chemicals:

• Cillit bang, etc.

They have the same effect: soften the dirt, making it easier to get rid of them.
