The kitchen is a space where a woman feels like a real queen. Personally, I can feel this way if I have order there, storage is properly organized, a lot of cabinets, shelves and tables. But it doesn't always work out that way. So it is with my husband. I want to share with you some kitchen accessories that I myself use and am quite happy with.

Colander
When we first moved in, we rented not even an apartment, but a room. Both did not have much property, and therefore they had to somehow get out. And just a couple of days later, I discovered the lack of one essential thing - the usual colander. There was no money, as you know, to buy right away, but a colander was needed today (I already put the pasta to cook).
However, I was not at a loss. I had one plastic bucket, I don't even know why, with a volume of 3 liters. And the soldering iron is small. I turn on the soldering iron and calmly make the required number of holes in the bottom. By the way, now I have two colander at home - one is metal with handles and a pallet, and the second is an ordinary plastic ladle, but this bucket is still in use. It is convenient to peel potatoes in it and wash them later. I did not remove the handle from the bucket, so it is very convenient to use such a colander.

Lids for bags
Another nuisance that awaits housewives in the kitchen is the storage of bulk products. There were no special conditions for storing bags with cereals, pasta and sugar in rented housing, as well as containers. And it was painful to tie-untie the bags every time.
On the Internet, I spied on the idea of sealing bags using plastic bottles, or rather, their necks. Of course, I took advantage of this idea.
I cut the neck off a plastic bottle. The edges, by the way, so as not to tear the package too much, I burned a little with a lighter. She pushed the edge of the package into the neck from the inside and folded its edges out. I screwed on the cork with the bag.
For pasta, beans and other bulk products that are larger than cereals, I use necks from five-liter canisters or milk bottles.

Plastic bottle containers
In general, plastic bottles are a versatile material. I had an idea how to make containers after all. Packages, of course, are good, but cans still look more neat. Well, since there is an idea, it must be implemented. To create one container, I needed two 2L plastic bottles (from Coca-Cola). I cut off one lower part by about half. Slightly melted the edges. Firstly, they ceased to be sharp, and secondly, they became more rigid. From the second, I cut off only the very bottom. The edges are also melted. This is how we got a container with a lid.

Knife holder
There is a sign - knives should not be left on the table. As you can imagine, there was no sink in the room. Therefore, we had to wash all the dishes and immediately carry them “home”. I spied on the Internet that one manufacturer offers a universal knife holder made of many polypropylene fibers.
Of course, I don't have such goodness. But there are wooden sticks for barbecue. They cost a penny. I took the lid from the can and the clamp. I put the sticks into the lid and tightened them on top. It turned out to be quite a nice knife holder.

Cutlery organizer
I had identified the knives, but the spoons and forks were still in the drawer. But they did not stay there for long. For the organizer, I needed six cans, two plywood, screws, glue, paint and my husband's hands. I figured it out - he did it, swearing through his teeth.
The jars were freed from the remnants of the lid and smoothed out the sharp edges. The surface was painted with acrylic paint. Pieces of plywood were placed perpendicular to each other, glued and secured with self-tapping screws for reliability. The cans were placed on the lower board, glued and fixed with self-tapping screws for the strength of the fastening. A handle was attached to the plywood in the middle.

Lid holder
When we moved to our own apartment, it became much easier - we have our own furniture, which means that you can do whatever you want. And the first thing I asked my husband about was to make holders for saucepans. I think every second hostess has a similar problem. We decided ours quickly - we attached ordinary plastic towel hooks to the doors of kitchen cabinets.

Hot stand
Hot coasters can be made from anything. For this purpose, I personally chose ordinary bottle corks. Lightweight, sturdy and heat-resistant, they make an excellent stand for pots and pans. I glued the corks in a circle from the central one to the Titan. I would like to use hot glue (it's faster), but it melts from hot glue.

Tray
My husband and I love to drink tea / coffee and watch TV at the same time. It is sometimes too lazy to carry around constantly mugs and plates of sandwiches, so we often argue who will go for the ration this time. My husband got tired of our arguments, and he made a tray from a regular board and two belts.

Cutting board tray
Many housewives will understand me and, probably, even support me. When you chop vegetables, especially cabbage, you need free space on the board, and therefore the product has to be constantly shaken off into the container. I am personally tired of this. Taking as a basis the idea of a husband with a board-tray, I came up with a tray-cutting board. On the one hand, I asked him to screw on the doorknobs. When flipped, the tray now becomes a raised cutting board that you can place your dishes under. There are no more problems with moving the shredded products into the container.

Shelves behind the refrigerator
In the kitchen, you need to use every inch of space. Many people have it between the wall and the refrigerator - they cannot move the equipment very close. We don't have this, but I share the idea, as my friend's husband did. He has built a flat rack with shelves that comfortably accommodate small cans and flat containers. Wheels are attached to the bottom of the rack, so there are no problems with pulling it out from behind the refrigerator.
