Builder advises: how to quickly and effectively bleach tile joints

The tiles on the walls and floors always look beautiful and fresh, regardless of whether the kitchen is, bathrooma or a hallway. And the material itself is in demand and popular, since it is durable, durable and easy to clean.

However, the tiles also have one minor drawback - these are the tile joints, which turn yellow over time, get dirty, and sometimes become moldy. The appearance of the room instantly deteriorates, especially if it is a light-colored material. Some people faced with such a problem, for some reason, immediately decide to update the grout, although this is a waste of both time and money. If you are faced with the fact that the interior suffers from darkening of the tile joints, then there are several very effective, and most importantly - cheap, ways to remedy the situation.

Solve the problem in different ways that help to quickly and effectively whiten the darkened grout.

Marker

In hardware stores, a special marker is sold with which you need to paint over the joints between the tiles. Its advantages - it is moisture resistant, suitable for any surfaces, absolutely safe, has no chemical odor, and it is quite simple to use it. And some options are even capable of providing an antiseptic effect, protecting the grout from mold and bacteria.

Before starting work, the surface must be washed from dirt and plaque, and dried. Then the marker must be shaken well and held along the seam, drawing a line of the desired width.

Toothpaste

This method is even easier than the previous one. You just need to take an old toothbrush, apply a small amount of paste on it and clean the inter-tile space. You do not need to wash off the product, let it dry, and then the seams will turn white.

If the work was not done very carefully, then do not be discouraged: the remains of the paste on the tile itself can be easily cleaned off with a damp sponge or brush.

Soda

This is also a very easy (but effective) folk way to whiten inter-tile seams. To do this, you need regular baking soda (which, in fact, every home has) and, again, an old toothbrush. Cleaning the seams is done in this way:

• moisten the surface with water and soda along the seams;
• wait 5-10 minutes for the powder to take effect;
• take a brush or sponge for dishes, sprinkle some more baking soda on it and clean the grout;
• Rinse abundantly with water (you can use a watering can, if it is a bathroom).

Vinegar + soda + citric acid (juice)

The recipe is also very simple:

• take half a glass of soda, 25 gr. lemons, about 50 ml of vinegar;
• mix everything until smooth and add 1.5 liters of water;
• moisten a toothbrush in the composition and process the joints;
• wait 15 minutes for effectiveness;
• Rinse off abundantly with warm water.

When implementing any method, it is very important to take personal protective measures: wear rubber gloves, in the latter version - a face mask (there may be a pungent smell due to vinegar).
