Even proper care of cutlery cannot completely eliminate the need for periodic cleaning. And all because limescale or fat particles are very fond of settling in the relief of the pattern on the handles. And this is not to mention the items made of table silver or cupronickel, which are often covered with an unsightly patina. But dealing with all these troubles at home is not difficult.

An ordinary saucepan, salt and soda will help to cope with this task without household chemicals.. If you have to clear silverware or cupronickel, it is advisable to add a piece of foil to the list, which covers the bottom of the pan.
The procedure is extremely simple:
- pour 1.5-2 liters of water into a saucepan;
- pour in there 2 tbsp. l. soda and salt;
- boil;
- send cutlery into the solution;
- keep them for 15–20 minutes on low heat;
- cool, remove from water, rinse and wipe.
To get rid of stubborn dirt, simply lengthen the boil time.

Single piece cleaning of cutlery
When a small amount of cutlery is to be cleaned, toothpaste, toothpaste or soda paste may be suitable for these purposes.. Instead of a cloth or sponge, in this case, it is better to use a toothbrush, which will increase the effectiveness of soft abrasives.
The cleaning process itself is also simple: grab a small amount of cleaning agent with a damp brush, clean the place of contamination, rinse and wipe dry. If some part of the contamination did not leave the first time, you can wipe the products treated with soda with table vinegar. Thanks to this method, even the most persistent fat particles will easily move away from the metal after such a double blow.
A solution of ammonia (part of 10% ammonia in 9 parts of water) helps to restore the shine to stainless steel, cupronickel and table silver. It is enough to moisten a cotton swab in the resulting mixture and wipe the devices previously cleaned of complex contaminants with it.
If the only problem is only limescale, then it is easy to get rid of it with the help of ordinary 9% vinegar.. After applying a small amount to a cotton swab, you should wipe the problem areas with it. After the plaque dissolves (usually 1-2 minutes of exposure to vinegar is enough), the cutlery should be thoroughly rinsed and wiped dry.
