The dishwasher is designed for automatic washing of kitchen utensils. The user should only place the dishes in the device, add the detergents, select the program and wait until the end.
In order for the purchased Bosch dishwasher to serve efficiently and for a long time, you will need to correctly position it and bring all related communications. You can connect it in two ways: contact the professionals or perform all the operations yourself. Connecting a Bosch dishwasher with your own hands is a simple task. Connection work must be done carefully in compliance with the necessary requirements.

How the dishwasher works
To properly connect the machine, you need to understand how it works. After loading the dishes and starting the device, cold water is supplied from the pipeline into a special compartment. In this compartment, water is heated with the help of a heating element to a predetermined temperature. Water through a container, together with detergents, is supplied to the spray nozzles.
Mixed jets, intensively and under pressure, hit the dishes while cleaning them. At the end of washing, the water is drained using a drain pump, rinsing with cold water and drying takes place. Moisture evaporates from the surface, collects on the walls of the chamber and flows down to the bottom, or the dishes are blown with hot air.
For the dishwasher to work smoothly installation is carried out in the order given below:
- Installation.
- Connection to the sewerage system.
- Connection to the water supply system.
- Electrical connection.
For self-installation of the dishwasher a number of tools and materials are required. To connect to the sewerage and water supply, you will need the following:
-
siphon with fitting;
- 3⁄4 '' threaded tee for water pipe;
- coarse filter 3⁄4 inch;
- ball valve;
- adjustable wrench;
- fum tape;
- building level (up to 40 cm);
- pliers.
To connect to the electrical network you will need to cook:
- circuit breaker 16A;
- stripping tool;
- nippers;
- pliers;
- heat shrink tubing or electrical tape;
- slotted and Phillips screwdrivers;
- socket 230 V / 16A;
- three-core cable with a cross section of 2.5 squares (brands: VVG, VVGng, VVG-P, VVGng-LS).
Choosing a location
Depending on the type of appliance, the dishwasher built into furniture or installed independently of it. In the second case, it is required to provide the necessary channels in the furniture design for laying the water supply and drain hoses. Channels or holes are made in such a way that provides free access to them if necessary.
When using the built-in version, the Bosch dishwasher is built into a specially prepared place, with the dimensions indicated in the model's instruction manual. A decorative facade is installed on the dishwasher door. Built-in dishwashers are equipped with a special template, according to which the facade is fastened. The fastening parts are inserted into the grooves on the machine body and the decorative panel is fixed.
The device is placed at a distance of one meter from the gas stoves. Direct sunlight is not allowed, it is forbidden to place it near heating systems. The length of the drain hose should not be longer than three meters. Using the height-adjustable feet and a water level, the machine is horizontally aligned. In the case of installation under a table top, it is advisable to set the legs in such a way that it does not rest against the table board. The requirements for the floor covering are to provide them with sufficient strength.
When choosing a location, it is taken into account that the dishwasher is a source of noise and is a large product. During transportation, the moving parts of the machine are secured with ties, adhesive tapes, bolts, which must be removed before use.
Sewerage
Organization of drainage is performed in several ways. Often, the drain is led directly to the sink or bathroom. For this, a special plastic hook is used, which makes it possible to pick up the hose by the edge.
The main task is to prevent odors from the sewer and drainage water from entering the Bosch dishwasher system. For this, a water lock is created by correctly bending and lifting the hose. Manufacturers recommend that when installing the drain hose, lift and fix it at a height of 50 cm to 85 cm, but not below the entrance to the sewer. For a smooth bend, a plastic bracket is used, which comes with each model, in the form of the letter U. It is fixed at the required height, and the hose is already laid in it.
If it is a stationary dishwasher, then the drain is organized directly through the siphon in the sink. In this case, the siphon is produced with one or two outlets, except for the one intended for the sink. The second is used to connect the washing machine, if it is missing, a plug is installed. The outlet of the siphon is a plastic fitting onto which the hose coming from the dishwasher is put on. The convenience of this option is that an additional water seal is created. The height of the siphon from the floor is 450 mm.
Second connection option - directly into the sewer socket. A tee of a suitable diameter is suitable for this. The drain hose is inserted through a rubber sleeve into the drain of the tee, which is inclined at 60 degrees.
When connecting, make sure that the hose is not squeezed or kinked. When replacing the dishwasher, the old hose cannot be used; it will need to be replaced with a new one.
Water supply
Plumbing requirements are to ensure a water pressure of at least 0.5 bar and a maximum of 10 bar. If the pressure exceeds ten bar, a pressure reducing valve is required. Water consumption must be at least 10 l / min. It is preferable to connect to a cold supply. If a pipeline with hot water is used, then its temperature should not exceed 60 degrees. A coarse filter is first installed on the used water outlet. It will protect the device from rust and sand. A shut-off valve is mounted behind it. It is preferable to use a crane of the "American" type.
The Bosch dishwasher can be supplied with the Aquastop system. This system is a sealed unit with valves and is designed to protect against leaks. It is installed at the end of the hose coming out of the dishwasher. The system is connected to the shut-off valve using a threaded connection. For "Aquastop" only a rigid mount is suitable, after operation it becomes useless and must be disposed of. The structure of the system is rigid, therefore additional difficulties arise during installation, depending on the place of installation and plumbing.
The water outlet itself is performed using a tee or by tapping into the pipe, through a clamp with a rubber gasket. For water inflow, a hole is drilled directly through the sleeve in the pipe. The internal thread is cut and the valve is screwed in. The connection to the machine itself is carried out using a henka, which is a screw-on "lamb" with a gasket on the hose.
Electrical connection
To connect the dishwasher to the electrical network you will need to plug the Bosch dishwasher into an outlet. There are requirements for the placement of the outlet and the wiring of the electrical cable.
The dishwasher is connected to an AC outlet with a ground contact and a voltage of 220 V. The socket must be able to withstand sufficient amperage, i.e. designed for a minimum of 16A. The power outlet must be located near the machine, in free access. The use of tees and extensions is not permitted. If necessary, an additional outlet of sufficient power, internal or surface-mounted, is installed by branching off from the main line. As a rule, an additional socket is installed at a height of 25–35 cm above the floor.
The best option would be lay new electrical wiring directly from the switchboard. The wire is used three-core, copper, with a cross-section of at least 2.5 squares. The laying of the wire is carried out in accordance with the requirements for electrical safety, damage to the insulation, straight bends are not allowed. The panel contains a 16 amp single pole circuit breaker for a single phase network. It will automatically cut off the power supply when the maximum allowable load level of the network is reached. If there is no ground, a differential protection device (RCD) is used. Grounding the device to water or gas pipes is prohibited and very dangerous.
It is recommended to use a voltage stabilizer in conjunction with a dishwasher. The stabilizer will protect the electrical network from power surges, ensuring the safety of the electronic components of the machine. With this connection, the stabilizer is first turned on in the outlet, and then the dishwasher is turned on.
It is important to remember that the organization of a new electrical point is carried out by an electrician, since work with electricity requires strict adherence to safety precautions. Violation of them can cause irreparable harm to health or cause a fire.
Upon completion of work a test launch of the device is in progress. In this case, it is worth checking the water connections for possible leaks, and the elements of the electrical network for heating, which should not be. Checking the operation of the machine modes is carried out without dishes, but using a detergent and a reducing salt. Such actions are described in detail in the instruction manual.
