During their work, electricians often face the problem of deterioration of old wires. The only way to eliminate this violation is to lay a new line. This business can be very easily dealt with by fixing the self-supporting insulated wire to the post. The main thing is that this action is performed by a professional, otherwise you can not only spoil the wires, but also harm your own health.

Advantages and installation of SIP cable
The SIP cable is characterized by a high level of strength and is widely used in various weather conditions and in various types of work.
In addition to its high strength, this cable has a number of advantages:
- under the self-supporting insulated wire, it is not required to pull a wire rod or a string, one or two tensioners suspended from different sides are enough;
- using self-supporting insulated wire, it is possible to conduct cable lines with a sag, which is simply an indispensable moment in areas with ravines and beams;
- to fix the cable between the posts, it is sufficient to use an anchor tension clamp.
During the installation of the cable, special strips are used. After fixing two strips, one on each side, the cable is pulled into one of the strips and it is clamped. In parallel with this, on the second pillar, the cable is inserted into another bar and begins to pull up. You can use a towbar for better tension, but here it is important not to overdo it, since it is even possible to pull the pole out of the ground. It is recommended to leave a slight slack so as not to pull the cable like a string.
At installation of SIP cable from the post to the house, the same is done, the tensioner is fixed to any post and through a hole in the wall is wound up inside the house. The cable must be wound through the corrugation, after which it is connected to the meter and only then to the input machine.
If you need to connect from the pole to one or more consumers, it is not necessary to make a break.
An efficient way to connect
It is quite convenient to connect the SIP cable using P 616R. This is a branch piercing clamp. When tightening the shear-head bolt, the self-supporting insulated wire is pierced, and the two cables are connected. But if suddenly there is no such clamp, then you can do without it.
It is required to take a dielectric knife with protection up to 1000 W and clean the place on the live conductor under voltage. 12-15 cm of cable is stripped. Then a similar stripping of the second conductor is performed. After that, the self-supporting insulated wires are installed with each other.
Before twisting the second SIP, the wire is divided into an equal number of veins. It bends 90 degrees and then transforms into a "T" shape. The wire is pressed tightly against the first conductor, after which one turn is attached to the other on both sides. After performing these manipulations, the cables are crimped with pliers, then the electrical tape is wound three times along the open wires.
You can make a slightly different connection. To do this, on the second conductor, all veins are diverted to the side, except for two. They are left straight and applied to the first conductor, the connection is wrapped with electrical tape like "Trickle". That is, a tight winding of the vein with rings is performed: one after the other along the vein of the central conductor. This connection option is ideal if you need to connect several consumers at the same time.
Security measures and tools
To facilitate and speed up the workflow, you need to prepare inventory. The tools include the following:
-
assembly knife;
- cable cutters;
- a set of quality screwdrivers;
- pliers;
- hex keys;
- insulating tape.
As for safety measures, before carrying out work, you should stock up on an assembly belt. There must be people nearby for safety net. Work must be carried out in dry weather.
Work is carried out in long sleeved clothes and pants. Shoes should have good rubber soles. Regarding the "nut" type connector, then it should be discarded, such equipment is prohibited to be used outdoors.
Without fail, the voltage is turned off, since, if present, installation work can be life-threatening. Before lifting onto the support, check its stability, do not grab onto the pins and hooks present on the support. When choosing a ladder, you need to pay attention to the fact that its length does not exceed 5 meters, and the angle of inclination is from 70 to 75 degrees. When working with the carrycot, be sure to wear a helmet and a belt fastened.
If you manage to turn off the electricity, then you need to post a warning sign and close the substation or switchboard. Next, you should check the absence of voltage using a probe.
