Buleryan solid fuel stoves are gaining more and more popularity. The scheme of the device reminds everyone of the well-known "potbelly stove", only additionally equipped with special tubular convectors. That is why many owners of country cottages and country houses install this heating device with their own hands.

Design features
Despite the fact that the heating unit has a rather impressive appearance, it will not be difficult to mount it. Especially for people who have at least minimal experience with metal material and who are versed in the device of solid fuel furnaces.
The furnace structure is presented in the form of a traditional solid fuel device that runs on wood according to a gas generator scheme. The actual fuel in the combustion process emits pyrolysis gas, which, in turn, enters a special chamber, where the afterburning process takes place. After that, the combustion products exit through the chimney.
Do-it-yourself stove buleryan according to the scheme and drawings should include the following parts:
- To
the combustion chamber, moreover, it must be capacious, since the fuel will be located precisely on the convection pipe;
- afterburner chamber, which will be located exactly above the firebox. It is assembled from a perforated iron sheet separating the entire upper part;
- chimney, which needs to be equipped with a special damper and a chamber where condensate will collect;
- tubular convector, consisting of several slightly curved pipes;
- a door for loading firewood, as well as helping to adjust the air supply in the combustion chamber.
In addition, pipes are installed in the furnace device, with the help of which secondary air will be supplied, which is extremely necessary for pyrolysis and its combustion. It is because of its simplicity that such a stove has earned popularity.
Basic principle of work
Heating of the room occurs due to the pyrolysis reaction. With a limited amount of oxygen, the fuel does not burn, but slowly smolders, while emitting pyrolysis products. After they penetrate into the upper furnace for afterburning, they are abruptly ignited and completely burned out. At this stage, heat is released.
The combustion process itself is supported by small injectors that are mounted in convection pipes. A self-made structure of this type is used quite widely; it can be used to heat a home, summer cottages and outbuildings. Moreover, after 15-20 minutes even in the coldest room it will be warm and comfortable.
The high temperature allows you to heat a fairly large area or even an entire floor. In addition, the structure is completely safe due to its surface pipes, so it is impossible to burn yourself against it, which is very important when there are small children in the house.
It is also worth adding that such a unit is heated exclusively with dry wood, the high humidity prevents the formation of a pyrolysis reaction.
Preparatory process
Before starting work, it is worth taking care of the tools and material from which the structure will be assembled. It is not necessary to purchase a complete set, it is quite possible that there are old pipes and metal on the site, they can also be used.
In addition, you will need diagrams and the most efficient blueprints. Buleryan is made with his own hands from the following materials:
- sheets of steel, the thickness of which must be at least 4 millimeters - they will be needed for the manufacture of the walls of the structure;
- pipe - a convector is assembled from it. For better convection, it is worth choosing elements with a diameter of about 40 mm;
- two metal pipes: one for the chimney, its diameter should be 100-120 mm, and the other for the throttle, which will be installed on the door;
- steel hinges on which the loading door will be attached. And you will also need a strong bolt and handle so that you can easily open and close it;
- two pieces of sheet steel, from one it is required to make a gate damper, from the second an element is cut out that will block the gap in the chimney;
- a metal pipe with a diameter of about 15 mm, from which it is required to mount injection pipes.

In addition, it is worth preparing an asbestos cord in advance, with the help of it you can seal the door. You will also need a set of electrodes for welding. To make it easier to prepare metal elements for the structure, you first need to make a piece of cardboard, and then cut out the main blanks along it.
Installation work
If everything is prepared, the drawings have been studied, then you can start working. Step-by-step process of manufacturing a furnace device as follows:
-
At the very beginning, you need to assemble the frame of the future stove. It will be made of intertwined curved pipes that form a kind of air heater, and the firebox will also be located there. To do this, use a pipe bender to bend the pipes so that they have a radius of curvature of about 225 mm and a length of 120 mm.
- Then you need to weld the elements to each other with metal strips to get a fairly stable and reliable base. The structure must be solid, without any holes and holes, so that smoke does not penetrate into the room where the device is installed.
- At the next stage, they begin to manufacture the afterburner. The easiest way to assemble it is from sheet metal. It is necessary to cut out the partitions and mount small recesses in them for the air heat exchanger.
- Now it is required to weld 2 baffles ¼ of the length to the pipe using a manual welding machine.
-
Then the injectors must be installed in the first 2 pipes. This place will receive the waste products of pyrolysis. It is necessary to check all welds for leaks and, if necessary, trowel them.
- 2 elements are cut from sheet iron, which will play the role of the back and front walls. In one of the parts, a small hole is made for the chimney.
- A hole is also cut on the second element, where the door is attached. It can be made from a pipe with a diameter of at least 350 mm. The design must be made two-layer, in which case one part will be located inside the loading chamber, and the second will cover the firebox from the outside.
- After the door is prepared, a throttle hole is made in it. The choke itself can be mounted from a piece of pipe with a rotating damper, while its dimensions must completely overlap the lumen. Also, a reliable lock is installed on the structure.
Final steps
It remains to make a chimney, it will be T-shaped. You will also need to make a damper for it, which should be slightly smaller than the chimney. Fix it in a horizontal outlet pipe. After that, a vertical pipe is welded to the pipe, through which smoke will pass, and condensate will accumulate below. Moreover, if you equip the structure with a ball valve, you can drain this condensate yourself.
At the final stage, you need to assemble the body and weld all the manufactured parts. After welding, the tightness of the seams is checked again, if everything is in order, then you can proceed with the installation of the doors.
After the body is assembled, the stove is installed on a pedestal 20-25 cm high, it can be made of metal or brick. The buleryan stove is considered ready. It remains to check the device for operability. But if the assembly was carried out strictly according to the instructions, then there should not be any special difficulties.
