Most industrial and residential production processes are fully or partially automated. This allows not only to significantly facilitate the work of people, but also to increase the accuracy and productivity of the processes themselves, and also to a large extent lead to tangible economic indicators. And all this thanks to KIP and A. But the decoding of instrumentation and A is known to very few people.

Definition of instrumentation and A
To begin with, it is worth understanding the very definition of instrumentation and A. What it is, in reality, it is quite easy to understand. In simple and understandable language, these are any measurements and / or automation of certain processes. For example, a thermometer on a window is an instrumentation. But the sensors and the electronic circuit of the multicooker will be the same instrumentation, but with automation. The letter "A" in this abbreviation means "automatic". As for the rest, the decoding of the instrumentation is "instrumentation".
Any device that is capable of determining any physical quantity (temperature, pressure, heat, electricity, etc.) belongs to such measuring instruments as instrumentation. Some of them are designed with the possibility of adjustment, i.e. such devices are able not only to record some data, but also to maintain them within specified limits. Thus, all this is included in the widest range of instrumentation and A.
Types of instrumentation
Different areas use different instruments, and the variety is incredibly wide. In addition, the measurements required for the same media are different. So, for water, measurements of temperature, pressure, pressure, hardness and others are carried out, and instrumentation devices are responsible for this.
Thus, the types of instrumentation depend on the environment:
-
Temperature fixing: temperature controllers, thermocouples, resistance thermometers, etc.
- Pressure measurement: pressure regulators, pressure gauges, pressure gauges, etc.
- Level recognition: level gauges, signaling devices, transmitters, etc.
- Electricity measurements: voltmeters, ammeters, shops, bridges, etc.
- Functional devices: frequency meters, power supplies, signal converters, etc.
- Heating point and catalan equipment: flame control, electric igniters, etc.
- Analysis instruments: gas analyzers, pH meters, electrodes, etc.
There are other types of instrumentation, but it is not customary to distinguish them separately. So, in the textile industry, sensors are used that can see defects, color, hue and other parameters. The executive mechanisms are not included in this list., which include valves, MIMs, closers, engines and other diverse systems. After all, you can automate almost any operation in any production and even in everyday life.
Service staff
It is clear that all the variety of systems responsible for automation and control cannot work independently, without human intervention. That is why there is a special staff - instrumentation locksmith and A. These are people who provide repair, adjustment and maintenance of devices and components involved in the operation of the system.
It is worth noting that the automation of technological processes is provided not only by devices alone, but also by a number of executive and other parts of the entire system. Thus, a fitter of instrumentation and automation (in the common people a "kipovtsa") has to service not only control devices directly, but also valves, tachogenerators, gearboxes, cylinders and other mechanisms.
However, not only the Kipovites are involved in the work. After all, it is also necessary to properly organize the workflow, order spare parts, develop projects, plan and draw up schedules and perform many other functions necessary for high-quality and uninterrupted operation of the technological equipment.
Thus, the staff of the department also contains specialists in managerial positions. So, the instrumentation and automation locksmiths are directly subordinate to the workshop foreman, who, in turn, is subordinate to the workshop chief. The entire automation department is headed by the chief metrologist with his deputy. The workshop itself also has a metrology laboratory.where Kipov electronics engineers and other more narrowly focused specialists work. Their task is to repair, check and verify instruments and measuring instruments.
Not the last place in this whole pyramid is occupied by the instrumentation and control engineer, whose duties include:
-
Design and use of automated control systems.
- Collection and processing of information that is necessary for the preparation of projects, as well as their development.
- Defining tasks for all departments of the shop and explaining the necessary details in accordance with job descriptions.
- Creation of all programs that determine the work of automated personnel management systems in accordance with the necessary requirements.
- Drawing up all the necessary documentation, from manuals to instructions.
Instrumentation and control engineer is one of the main and important positions in the automation workshop of the Chief Metrologist's Department.
Duties of a locksmith
Locksmith instrumentation and A - an employee who interacts directly with equipment and measuring instruments. Depending on the rank and qualifications, their duties may differ. Thus, a sixth-grade locksmith-kipovite must have knowledge that allows him to service even parts and assemblies of spacecraft.
A worker at an enterprise, regardless of his qualifications, is obliged to perform work of such a nature as:
-
repair, adjustment and testing of equipment;
- monitoring and ensuring the operability of electrical measuring instruments and automation equipment;
- monitoring and checking the performance of devices for measuring physical quantities;
- arbitration measurements;
- control and timely repair of the entire system;
- determination of performance and wear;
- processing of received signals and measurements.
The instrumentation locksmith must monitor the readings of the instruments, their operability and carry out scheduled or unscheduled repairs of all equipment related to systems and automation equipment.
Verification of instrumentation and equipment

Automation and instrumentation in general are extremely important elements of modern life. After all, devices that are responsible for the operation of many mechanisms and assemblies not only facilitate human labor, but also make it much safer.
One has only to imagine what could have happened if, for example, a man did everything at a nuclear power plant, and not machines and machines. There would be several times more tragedies, because the human factor has not yet been canceled.
If we take a more modest situation as an example, how can a person continuously monitor temperature or pressure readings? And okay, if the consequences only lead to marriage, but everything can turn out to be much more deplorable, and as a result of an ordinary oversight, a person can not only get injured, but also die. That is why instrumentation and automation are in many cases a safety device.
But in order for all devices to work properly and accurately, they must be constantly checked, that is, verified. This means that it is regularly necessary to remove the devices and hand them over to a special service, which will check them according to various parameters. In case of successful passing of all tests, the device returns to its place, but already with a stamp confirming that this measuring instrument has been verified and is suitable for accurate operation in the future.
At different times and in different countries, such a stigma looks different, but the basis is always the same data.

If a device or measuring instrument bears such a mark, then this indicates that their accuracy can be trusted and operated. in a certain time period: each verification gives the right to use the device only in a limited, established by the rules, term. Depending on the purpose, requirements for the reliability of indications and the degree of danger, this period may be different.
Household automation
Every day a person uses automation systems in everyday life, without even thinking about it. After all, starting from the iron and ending with the "smart home" system, everything contains the elements of instrumentation and A.
For example, the iron does not heat up all the time, which means that something must control the set temperature. In turn, in order to correct it, there must be a part that will measure, turn off and turn on the heater according to a certain algorithm. Thus, a full-fledged system of automatic fixation and regulation of such a parameter as temperature is obtained.
If we turn to a more complex mechanism, for example, a multicooker or a bread maker, then everything works and is done in automatic mode here too - it's not a secret. But it turns out that all processes are monitored by the usual instrumentation and A. Only, taking into account their compactness, they do not look as bulky as at the factory. Here the whole structure is enclosed in a microcontroller., well, plus the necessary sensors. But this is still the same automation system.
So KIP and A are present in our life much more densely than it might seem. Heating, hot and cold water supply, air conditioners and household appliances - all this heats, pours and bakes thanks to instrumentation and automation.
The importance of automation in human life
The decoding of instrumentation and A carries much more than just another and little-known abbreviation. After all, this is not just convenience and comfort in various spheres of life, but often also safety.
Not a single enterprise, plant or residential building can function well without instrumentation and A. Everything in a person's life is tied to automation and convenience. And if something of this is eliminated, it will become uncomfortable, uncomfortable and unusual.
And the people who serve all this variety of devices and systems must be really good specialists in order to competently and efficiently do their job.
