A plasterboard socket - a gasket between the wall and the socket for a stable fixing of the electrical connector. It is done before installing the outlet. The absence of such a device leads to a rapid loosening of the fasteners, deformation of the finishing material and the impossibility of further operation, since the socket will simply fall out.
Modern devices have additional fasteners with which they can "cling" to the installation cover, providing optimal retention of the connector.
Since GCR belongs to flammable materials (but there are exceptions), devices are selected based on fire safety rules. Experts recommend paying attention to:

After choosing a place for the outlet of the electrical cable, you need to process a section of the wall, applying a sufficient amount of putty to strengthen the gypsum board before drilling. You can also apply a primer to give extra hardness to keep the sheets from crumbling. - After the completion of the pre-processing, holes are made. A special crown can be used for plasterboard flanges or a conventional drill and a construction knife.
- Installing socket outlets in drywall differs from laying outlets in concrete. The hardware contains two pairs of screws. The first is recessed into the plastic base and serves to fix the position, and the second is located outside for attaching products to the sheets. For this purpose, there are “paws” that press and create an emphasis.
Crown selection
The crown is a special drill in the form of a cylinder with an edge that has small but sharp teeth. With its help, you can effectively drill material, getting perfectly straight holes. Standard product sizes are 68-70 mm, but there are nozzles with other parameters.
In order not to break the gypsum board sheet when drilling, you do not need to press the nozzle too hard. Otherwise, you will have to spend time eliminating the consequences. The diameter of the holes is determined exactly based on the size of the socket boxes: they should fit tightly, almost end-to-end. Attach a box to the sheet, circle the place with a marker to get marks, but you need to drill a little wider than the values obtained. All work is carried out only on the front side. After drilling, putty and primer must be applied again.: This will extend the life of the connectors.
Installation of socket boxes
After the tool and the hole itself are ready, they begin to carry out installation work. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the wiring plan, taking into account the arrangement and dimensions of the furniture. Better to spend a little time and get the information you need than redo it later.

- Place of installation must be putty. This point is important, you should not ignore it, because the putty will significantly strengthen the location of the electrical connector.
Standards and Requirements
During operation, all distances are measured based on where the connector will be located, what tasks it should perform. However, it is customary to use certain standards:
- 30 cm from the floor (indoors);
- 100 cm for bathrooms (usually located above the washing machine);
- 120 cm in the kitchen (mostly placed above furniture).
The indicated values cannot be considered mandatory, because homeowners proceed from their own needs, but through these standards it is possible to achieve optimization of the internal space.
