Here it is only necessary to remember that the channel size should be approximately 25% larger in comparison with the sum of the diameters of all conductors.

If the laying of the Internet cable is carried out during the repair in an already used room, then it is extremely important to find all existing communications so as not to damage them. In addition, it is necessary to adhere to one rule for carrying out construction work - all gutters and channels must be made at right angles.

The installation site of the socket should be planned in advance and a cavity should be made. If it is planned to lay only a twisted pair in the channel, then its depth should be from 30 to 35 mm, and its width should be about 25 mm. Most often, devices with an RJ 45 connector are installed at a height of 150-1200 mm from the floor. In a residential area, it is sufficient to install one or at most two sockets., and in offices they are mounted near each workplace.

All work must be performed in several stages. They are not difficult, but you should know the sequence of actions.

Speaking about how to connect an Internet outlet, you first need to get acquainted with the pinout diagram of the connector. There are two types of them:

• Direct - used to connect the end device to the router.
• Crossover - it is necessary to connect similar devices to each other, for example, two PCs.

For a direct connection, all wire colors on each connector must match. If a cross-circuit is implemented, then the orange and green wires must be swapped. Having chosen the connection method, leave 100-150 mm of the cable from the wall plane, and cut off the rest. Most often, there is a thread in the twisted pair, with which you can easily release all the conductors. You can also use a simple knife or cutting edge for this, which is located on the crimping pliers.

In the next step, you need to straighten all the multi-colored wiring and insert them into the corresponding connectors of the terminal block. When tightening the fixing screws, make sure that the wires are in place and have not left them. After all these manipulations, it remains only with the help of a screwdriver to sink the clamping terminals so that they cut through the insulating layer of the wires.

Checking the wiring

In order for the connected equipment to function normally in the future, a connection check must be performed. To do this, you have to use a conventional electrical tester. First, you need to put the other end of the Internet cable into the terminal block and connect the patch cord to it. By switching the tester to the sound alert mode, the presence of a signal in each conductor of the twisted pair is checked.

To solve this problem, you can also use a special cable tester and an additional patch cord. After completing all the necessary connections, the tester will give a sound and light notification about the presence or absence of a signal in each conductor. However, at home, the first option is most often used, as it is more practical.

Terminal block installation

If the signal passes, you can proceed to the final stage of installing the outlet. The remnants of the cable should be carefully removed and the terminal block should be installed in the sockettightening it with the retaining screws to the pre-installed plastic cup. It is also important to check that it fits snugly in the socket and that the wires are not sticking out or pinched.

After performing all these manipulations, it is worthwhile to check the presence of a signal again by connecting any device, for example, a laptop, to the terminal block. If there is no Internet connection, you will have to return to the cable pinout step again. Often the cause of the problems that appear is a conductor that has fallen out of the installation socket.
