Recently, varnishing of a wooden surface is one of the most popular types of finishes. As a rule, it is intended for the implementation of the following tasks:
1) Through varnishing, the coating becomes the most natural, bright and colorful. As a rule, even if the ordinary piece of wood is varnished, it will acquire a presentable appearance.
2) Varnish perfectly protects the product from external influences. A tree that is varnished is difficult to scratch or cause other defects that reduce the performance of the product.
There can be several stages of surface varnishing: varnish selection, material preparation, coating and drying. When performing each of the stages, all rules should be observed, the subtleties and nuances of the work performed should be taken into account.

Particular attention should be paid to the stage of drying the varnish. This procedure is not as simple as it seems at first glance. Its correct implementation guarantees a decent result.
In some cases, the varnish may simply not dry. Even if all other varnish application steps were performed correctly. Usually this problem occurs due to the carelessness of the person who is varnishing the wooden surface.
Each painter should know how much time is allotted for the varnish to completely dry. However, oddly enough, but this question is very difficult to answer. Drying time depends on a number of factors. The main ones include: type of varnish, air temperature in the room. By the way, it is not recommended to varnish in rooms with high humidity. In such places, the varnish is unlikely to ever dry.

There are several reasons why the varnish does not dry:
- Wrong composition selected. When choosing a varnish should take into account the substances that wood has. Each type of wood requires a certain type of varnish.
- Poorly prepared surface. Any wooden product must be sanded before varnishing. Ignoring this procedure will not allow the varnish to dry. Particles of wax mastics that remain on a wooden surface also do not contribute to the drying of the varnish.
- Incorrect hardener selected. All varnishes require a specific hardener.
- Unsuitable indoor climate. The temperature in the room where the varnishing is carried out should be at least +10 degrees. And air humidity should not exceed 75 percent.
All of the above reasons seriously slow down the process of drying the varnish.
