5 tricks for laying granite

- Soak. Before laying ceramic granite, each tile must be soaked briefly in water. Some repair teams practice one-time dipping tiles in water. The surface of the material must be free from the slightest contamination, and this is impossible if you simply dip the tile.
- The right choice of glue and its competent application.
- Adhesive must be selected that matches the conditions of masonry and the very quality of granite. Universal glue does not exist.
- Bilateral application of glue - one on the screed or plaster, the second on the ceramic granite itself. This will eliminate possible voids under the ceramics and provide adhesion.
- Width of joints (seams). Wide seams must be left in two cases:
- External cladding (street, public areas)
- Internal cladding with integrated floor heating system. Due to the change in temperature, narrow seams can begin to deform the styling.
- Laying in a single direction. The arrow on the back of the tile indicates the laying direction. The manufacturer provides for the technical nuances of the tile itself, in which chaotic laying will disrupt the entire quality of the work.
- Grout. Having no experience in laying, it is worth choosing a glossy version of porcelain stoneware, since the fugue is able to clog the pores of a matte or structured tile. To remove the grout from the surface will be hard, long work.
