Recently, the consumer prefers to use linoleum as a floor covering, since the material is characterized by excellent performance, durability and attractive external view. But sometimes the width of the roll is not enough to completely cover the surface of the floor, and in this case, docking is required. Even with professional installation, the connection points are lifted over time, and in order to solve this problem, cold or hot welding is required.

Welding Varieties and Features
- Cold welding. For joining, a special glue is used that melts the edges of the roll, and when dried, one whole web is formed. Most often, this option is used to eliminate unaesthetic connections. This option is also great for repairing a damaged surface.
- Hot welding. Here, a building hair dryer enters as the main tool, which during operation can heat linoleum to 400 degrees. But at home, this option is used extremely rarely, as it requires significant investment of funds. Hot welding of linoleum in places with high traffic is advisable.

Used materials and equipment
In addition to the flooring itself, you will need:
- Welded cord to fill the seam. Its composition should be similar to linoleum. The cord under the influence of high temperatures melts and penetrates into the material.
- Construction hair dryer. Be sure the equipment must be equipped with a thermostat so that you can set the required temperature. The highest quality hair dryers heat the air to a temperature of 700 degrees.
- Special nozzle.
- Groove Chisel.
- Crescent knife. It is necessary to remove residues.
Of course, if there are no skills and knowledge to carry out such work, it is better to hire a qualified specialist who is guaranteed to perform the job efficiently and promptly.

If the work is done independently, then we can expect difficulties:
- Welding cords are sold in limited quantities and by no means in all construction stores.
- A building hair dryer has a high price, so you need to find an organization that deals with equipment rental.
- Not knowing the basic principles of work, you can damage the surface.
