Ceramic blocks

This new material represents a variation of the same brick, only with voids inside. They are also made of clay, but there are voids inside to improve thermal insulation and micropores. Hence the second name - porous ceramics. According to the manufacturers, they have the same strength as brick. However, only high-quality blocks made in compliance with production technology will serve for a long time.

Aerated concrete

Lightweight material with a porous structure. Fits quickly, is inexpensive. However, aerated concrete has significant drawbacks: it absorbs moisture and is quite fragile. With violations of the masonry process, even high-quality aerated concrete can crack, and this often leads to damage to the entire house. Despite this, aerated concrete is now at the peak of popularity.

Foam concrete

It looks like aerated concrete, but has many disadvantages. The walls of foam concrete "do not breathe", it is very soft, with time it gives a lot of shrinkage. In addition, it can be made in the garage, so there is a great risk of acquiring a fake of poor quality. Now foam concrete in private construction fades into the background. It is also used as insulation for the ceiling and walls, but the supporting structure made of foam concrete will not last very long.

Tree

This natural material has also served for the construction of houses for more than one hundred years. Build from it now. It can be at home both from a solid bar, and from sawn and glued. The tree looks beautiful, it is environmentally friendly, but needs additional measures to protect it from pests, moisture and fire. And from this point of view, wood cannot be considered durable material. Of all the materials, it will have the shortest service life.

Also, the house can be built from shell rock or natural stone. It can stand for a long time, but here it all depends on the quality of the material and the way it is laid.

There are also varieties of concrete blocks for walls: expanded clay concrete, wood concrete, cinder block. However, they have a number of disadvantages that make these materials not very popular. In particular, this is high hygroscopicity, the need for significant insulation and pouring a reliable foundation. Handicraft materials are also common. More often, cinder block and its varieties are used for household buildings and garages.
