The process itself is not a big deal. The only difficulties may arise due to the fact that the work must be carried out at a high height, and the surface is directly above the head of the master.

When is whitewashing required?

Whitewashing should be removed if necessary:

• Ceiling coverings with expanded polystyrene tiles.

Room preparation

Methods for washing whitewash from the ceiling

The easiest way to get rid of old whitewash is to use warm water. She needs to moisten the cotton cloth wound on a mop or other device, and then begin work on the planned cleaning of the surface.

This method is recommended to be used if the ceiling is covered with chalky whitewash. To test this, just spray it with water. If the drops are quickly absorbed - chalky whitewashing on the ceiling, if they linger on the surface - lime.

Lime whitening

In this case, you have to use an additional tool - a metal scraper or a spatula. To make lime whitewash easier to remove from the surface of the ceiling, it must be additionally moistened with a solution of warm soapy water.
