In the market of building materials, there are many different compositions of adhesives for tiles. This variety is easy to get confused, especially for a beginner. How to choose the best glue, say, for gluing tiles in the kitchen?

Types of Tile Adhesive
All tile adhesives are divided into two groups: cement-based mixtures and ready-made polyurethane compounds. The second are much more expensive.
Cement-sand mixture
Its advantage is that glue can even be applied to curved walls: the tile will adhere securely, and the wall itself will even out. Warranty for cement glue - 50 years. If it is necessary to replace one or two tiles, they can be dismantled, although with difficulty. Glue can be easily and quickly prepared from a bag of dry mix.

Finished pasta
To install the tile on polyurethane adhesive, you need to perfectly align the wall with plaster. Such glue has an almost unlimited service life. There is also a minus: to remove tiles from the wall will be possible only with the base. It is also important that its price will be higher than the same volume of dry mix.
When deciding on glue for tiles in the kitchen, you need to consider that the composition will have to withstand high temperatures. It is also worth paying attention to what size the tile itself is, and on what surface it will be laid: wood, cement or brick.

Qualities of good glue
Important qualities of glue for a kitchen tile are:
- Hardening time - a good glue should not harden very quickly so that there is time to correct the position of the incorrectly laid tile;
- Plasticity - glue should not slide down the wall, otherwise you will have to forget about quality. The ductility of a good glue does not change depending on the thickness of the adhesive mass;
- Adhesion speed - high-quality adhesive should firmly hold any size and weight of the tile. And at the same time do not immediately give water. If the glue dries slowly, the laid tile can hold on tight.
If the glue does not meet all the requirements, the result of work can bring disappointment. It is not always possible to choose glue in the store only by composition and inscriptions on the package. Therefore, before buying, it is better to get advice from practicing tilers.

Cooking rules
Do not forget that even very good and expensive glue requires competent preparation:
- Dry glue is always poured into water, and not vice versa. Otherwise, an insoluble lump of cement will result.
- The thicker the intended layer, the thicker it is necessary to make the glue consistency. It directly depends on the amount of added water.
Guided by these tips, you can choose the best glue for tiles in the kitchen, which will be easy to use, affordable and durable in terms of service life.
