Replacing a window structure with a wooden one with a metal-plastic one, unfortunately, does not always lead to the desired result. A significant role in the degree of thermal insulation is played by slopes. Their high-quality implementation using appropriate materials will significantly warm the room.

Any installation of new windows is not complete without dismantling the old frames. The specificity of this procedure is that it is almost impossible to maintain the finish of the adjacent opening intact. To install metal-plastic windows, it is supposed to create a technological gap between the surface of the opening and the frame.
Both nuances are the reason for the need for restoration of slopes on both sides.
In addition to the aesthetic purpose, the slope also has a protective function for polyurethane sealant. So it is preserved from the effects of low temperatures and precipitation. In order to maximally eliminate the temperature effect, it is recommended to use special heat-insulating materials during the finishing process, such as:
- Plaster - has a low cost, easy to use, the coating is highly resistant, however, applying an insufficient layer (less than 2 cm) can lead to a weak effect and quick destruction. Such a finish tends to get dirty quickly and will require regular updates;

- Drywall - the cost is more expensive than that of plaster. The material copes with irregularities perfectly, eliminating the need for unnecessary efforts for self-leveling. It has a light weight and easy to install. The disadvantage is moisture intolerance, poor strength and the possibility of stains on the surface after a period of time;

- Plastic or PVC - has a long service life, hygienic properties, as well as excellent appearance. A distinctive feature is the fact that temperature changes do not create unnecessary loads for slopes, which contributes to their longer service life.

- Polyfoam is an excellent and inexpensive insulation. It is not used for interior decoration, as the material is toxic and flammable.

The listed materials are the most common among consumers. In addition to them, slopes are often used:
- Metal;
- Decorative rock;
- Sandwich panel;
- Wooden panels;

After analyzing all kinds of materials for finishing the slopes of window openings, we can conclude that their choice is quite large. Each species has its own advantages and disadvantages. In the selection process, it is important to consider that some materials are excellent for lining the inside and are not suitable for the outside, while others are vice versa.
