The wallpaper sticker is the final stage of repair and decoration. After the walls have become beautiful, you can finally take a breath. But there are times when the result of long efforts is not pleasing to the eye - a wall shines under the wallpaper, spots and flaws of the stucco are visible. What to do and how to fix the situation?

First of all, you need to find out why this happened. There are three main points worth paying attention to:

Thin paper

If the choice was made in favor of inexpensive paper wallpaper, then most likely they are very thin. Color also plays an important role: a pale pattern or its absence guarantee the translucency of the wall. Therefore, it was necessary to determine when buying. Pale and thin wallpapers should not be taken.

What to do when they are already pasted? Do not immediately rush to rip off the trellis. Often thin wallpapers shine through while they are wet. It is enough to wait about a day until it dries completely, as the problem disappears by itself.

If, nevertheless, the wall is also visible through dry trellises, then only full plywood with a replacement for a denser material can help out.

Wallpaper under the paint

When buying wallpapers, you should always check their markings. If the paper is intended for subsequent coloring, then it must be painted. The flaws of the wall under such wallpaper are always visible.

Correcting the situation in this case is much simpler: you need to wait until the wallpaper is completely dry, then select the paint you like and apply it to the canvas. Sometimes it is necessary to paint in two layers.

Unprepared wall

The third reason is not the wallpaper itself, but the poor preparation of the foundation. It is not enough to carefully align and prime the wall; it is also necessary to achieve the most uniform color shade of the entire surface. Then it will be possible to glue even light wallpapers without fear.

There are three working methods for color alignment:

1. The old way is to cover the wall with white paper.
2. Paint with white paint.
3. Putty all white primer.

You need to choose based on your capabilities and the availability of time. Experts believe that the best way to remove all the shortcomings is the third method - putty.

In the case when spots are visible through the non-woven wallpaper for painting, there are also two options:

1. Recolor the wallpaper with more saturated and vibrant paint.
2. Carefully remove the trellis and paint the wall.

Of course, the hardest part of this work is not the wallpaper sticker, but the preparation and leveling of the wall surfaces. But with a quality preparatory stage, there will be no disappointment from the result, and the wallpaper does not have to be re-glued and repainted, which is much more expensive.
