Improving the electrical safety of an apartment is an important procedure, which is accompanied by a decrease in the risk of sudden light shock or fatal. How can you increase the security of an apartment?

The right materials and components
Sockets can vary not only in color and shape, but also in the material of manufacture, electrical safety and functions. The base of the outlet can be made of ceramic and plastic. For safety reasons, it is better to choose the first option, which is not exposed to high temperatures.

Socket terminals can be made of brass and bronze. The first option should not be used in rooms with high humidity, as brass is rapidly oxidized. Bronze is not sensitive to moisture changes, its service life is much longer.

To connect powerful household appliances, it is necessary to use sockets with grounding and a bandwidth of 32 Amps. Also an important factor is the degree of protection, for an apartment these indicators should be at the level of 43-44.

If children live in the apartment, it is necessary to purchase outlets with curtains, normal or rotary. Based on the consumption of electricity and the length of the network, it is necessary to select the correct cables, wiring, type of circuit breaker. All these issues must be addressed with an electrician.

Grounding
To prevent contact of the current with household conductors, it is necessary to ground the devices and sockets. To do this, the housing of the device is connected to the grounding contact. When a breakdown voltage occurs, the fuse turns off the current supply.

Disconnecting devices
Various devices act as disconnecting devices, but they act the same way. If, during monitoring, overheating or loss of voltage is detected in any area, it is turned off and the sockets are de-energized.

There are devices that control any interference in the power grid. For example, if a child shoves a spoke into a power outlet, then a quick reaction will occur and the current will turn off. Or if someone decides to disassemble a working electrical appliance, the current supply will stop instantly.

Equalization
All conductive housing systems have zero potential, and they are also in contact with the ground. Current always follows a path less than resistance. These systems include: gas pipeline, sewage system, water supply system and through fittings.

If, for example, you touch the damaged surface of the turned-on washing machine and try to turn off the water tap with your other hand, the current can use the body as a conductor. Everything happens due to the voltage difference, which is 30V for the machine, and 0V for the crane. When connecting the equalization system, the potentials of all working and broken devices become the same.
