What to do if burned carpet

Due to our negligence, various items in our home often suffer, including carpets and other coatings. When a burnt spot appears on the carpet, this place is sent under the sofa, wardrobe or chair, because it completely spoils the whole view of the room. There are many cases where a damaged surface can be repaired so as not to resort to extreme measures, for example, buying a new thing.

Color recovery

This procedure may be required in many cases, for example, to get rid of the stain. This will require ordinary acrylic paints, you can buy them in any store for creativity. The shade suitable for the carpet is selected and paint is applied along the length of the pile. If necessary, colors can be mixed.

Remove the burnt spot

In fact, it is not so difficult to restore the carpet, even if the burnt spot on it stands out strongly. First you need to carefully cut out all the burnt villi, colorless glue is poured onto the bottom of the site. When he grabs a little, then new villi are inserted into this place, which can be taken from other, less noticeable places, and it is better from several different ones. This method is called fiber extension.

If the burnt spot is large enough, for example, from the iron, then you can also restore the carpet. To do this, first cut out the scorched area with sharp scissors (preferably in the shape of a rectangle), then cut off the same piece from less visible places (often under a sofa, near walls, under windows and etc.). Then it is applied with glue (best of all a colorless gel cream moment) to the cut out place. A soft cloth or towel is placed on top, and then something heavy, such as a few books. In this condition, leave a place for several days.

After the load is removed, the restored place must be thoroughly combed using a brush with a stiff bristle or a comb.

Tips

If the burnt area has a length of more than 5 cm, then it is better to entrust the repair to specialists.

When you select a piece of carpet to replace, then pay attention to its shade, if the carpet has long been in the room, then in some places it could be discolored due to bright sunlight.

If you need to raise the pile, for example, after it was heavily crushed by furniture, then this place needs to be moistened a little water, then raising the hairs with a comb to dry them with a hairdryer, just like with normal hair styling after washing.
