The next step will be the installation of a vapor barrier tape. She plays the role of additional isolation. Foam in tandem with vapor barrier tape makes it possible to avoid freezing of joints, drafts and penetration of moisture into the room.
Final stages
After installing the vapor barrier tape, it is necessary to measure between the door frame and the tile already laid on the walls. Ceramic tiles prepared for installation close to the door must be cut to a suitable size. To do this, use measuring instruments - level and ruler, as well as a grinder or tile cutter. Tool discs must be diamond coated.
To obtain an exact plane, it is recommended to use a tile alignment system - a technology that allows the installation of material to the accuracy of a millimeter. With a successful installation, the gap between the tile and the door frame will be no more than 1.5 mm.
The gap can be reduced to 0.5 mm using a special tool - a diamond turtle for ceramic tiles. With its help, it is necessary to carefully cut off the necessary part from a fragment of material and grind it.
At the final stage, the installed ceramic tile must be fixed with wedges. The remaining gaps between the tiles and the door frame are sealed with silicone grout. Grout residues are removed with a rubber spatula. The work performed ensures that the wall, tiled, will be in the same plane with the door without platbands.
