Modern wall panels are made of different materials. One of the most practical options is MDF. The fact is that these plates combine both relatively high environmental friendliness and moisture resistance. In addition, MDF is a fairly durable material. The main thing is that the owner correctly completed the installation of this product. To obtain the highest quality result, it is worthwhile to conduct thermal insulation.

Preparing walls for work
MDF panels must be installed on the frame. Therefore, in a special way to prepare the work surface does not have to. If there are no serious dirt and mold on it, you can immediately begin to assemble the frame.

The frame is made of bars, the thickness of which should be about 8 cm. Such elements are installed depending on the future position of the panels: the panels are usually mounted vertically, so the bars must be mounted horizontally, observing a step of 60–70 cm.

Laying thermal insulation material
Thermal insulation is usually needed when finishing external walls. But the insulating material is also useful when working with interior partitions, since this way you can protect yourself from extraneous noise.
To ensure a reliable insulating layer, it is better to use mineral wool. It is tightly installed in the free space between the components of the frame. For rooms with moist air, it is better to use extruded polystyrene foam, since it has high moisture resistance in contrast to mineral wool.

Fixing MDF panels
The installation of the panels themselves is desirable to begin with the installation of a guide starting profile. The panel is tucked into it, and to the frame elements it is seized by self-tapping screws. The next MDF panel is mounted so that it is securely connected to the previous one through the tongue-and-groove system.

Similarly, the entire skin is assembled. There should be no gaps between the elements. Therefore, they are customized as tightly as possible. To cut the MDF panel according to the required measure, you will get an ordinary electric jigsaw or a hand hacksaw.
Additional decorative finish
Having collected all the cladding, the owner can additionally carry out decorative work. They are necessary when there is no additional layer of veneer or laminate on the MDF panels. But this happens extremely rarely, since wall panels still immediately make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible. The owner does not need to think about anything else.
