What method of laying tiles is easy for even a beginner to master

Repair in an apartment or a private house does not do without laying tiles. This work is usually assigned to professionals. They carry out it quickly and efficiently, but they take a considerable amount as payment for their work. If the repair budget is strictly limited, then tile laying can be done independently.

Before starting work, you need to study its technology. Professionals can lay tiles in many different ways. The easiest and most accessible for beginners is the traditional way. They can easily lay square or rectangular tiles. It is glued in even rows parallel to the wall or floor. To get a more aesthetic look, the rows of tiles should be perfectly aligned horizontally and vertically.

However, the traditional method has some features that must be considered when working. To give the lined surface an unusual appearance, you can combine multi-colored tiles. The simplicity and speed of the work will be maintained by a combination of the same sized tiles.

If cheap material is used, then before starting work, all products must be checked for defects and irregularities. If there are a lot of uneven tiles, instances suitable for each other should be selected.

At the initial stage of work, thoroughly prepare the walls or floor to be treated. It is necessary to remove the old whitewash, paint, flaky plaster or screed, nails, screws, grease, dust and other contaminants. Small bulges are knocked down with a hammer, and hollows and cracks are sealed with putty.

Then measure the deviations of the surface from horizontal and vertical. If the difference is not more than one centimeter, it can be leveled with tile glue. For more serious differences, you will have to plaster the wall again or fill in a new screed on the floor. Further, the surface is primed with deep penetration compositions. The primer is applied in several layers, each of which is dried before applying the next layer.

The surface of the wall is marked according to the size of the tile. Laying will start from the bottom up from the second row. The first row is mounted only after facing the floor. Along the line of the lower edge of the second row of tiles, a metal profile is mounted on the wall. It will serve as a support for the laid tiles. After use, the profile is removed.

Laying tiles is carried out on a special adhesive solution, starting from the middle of the room in any direction. After the end of one row, proceed to the installation of the next.
