How to remove the gaps between the canvas already pasted wallpaper

In order to beautifully and correctly paste the wallpaper, of course, you need experience and a lot of practice. It so happens that professionals in their field experience errors. Of great importance is the quality of the wallpaper and the quality of the preparation of the walls. A very unpleasant moment comes when gaps appear between the canvases of the glued wallpaper and the wall is visible.

The reasons:

1. Low quality glue. It looks thick, does not spread, but its adhesive ability is poor. After smearing them with wallpaper, they are sufficiently moistened and stretched. Drying, they decrease in width and at the edges the edges rise and diverge.
2. Improper organization of drying glued wallpaper. The presence of a draft.
3. Drying out of direct sunlight.
4. Violation of sticking technology.
5. Bad fixation of the edge of the canvas.
6. Lack of glue on the edges of the wallpaper.

Before starting work, it is necessary to adhere to these recommendations in order to avoid gaps at the joints of wallpaper. It’s better to warn than to fix it later.

How to remove the gaps between the canvas already pasted wallpaper:

1. If finances allow, you can buy new wallpapers and re-stick with an understanding of the reasons for the appearance of gaps.
2. Be careful, all paper-based wallpapers when wet with glue change their sizes to five millimeters.
3. With a construction knife, gently pry and lift the edge of the wallpaper canvas about three to five centimeters. Moisten the inside of the wallpaper between the joints with plain water. You can use a spray bottle or a simple foam sponge. Clean the wall under the joint from the remnants of glue, and treat with clean water. Mix glue and polyvinyl acetate emulsion in the same amount. Treat this mixture with the wall and the inside of the wallpaper near the joints. Wait a few minutes and carefully glue the wallpaper joints to the wall using a rubber roller and a plastic spatula. For a long time roll out the joints of the wallpaper with a roller, at least ten minutes. Then glue the joint surface with glue PVA-m. The width of the seam should not be thicker than one millimeter. Be careful and patient!
4. Using grout for tile. Add dye to the color of the wallpaper. Put on the joint.
5. Collect unnecessary leftover wallpaper. Using a knife, remove the front decorative layer. Mix this powder with PVA glue. Put on the joint. Then you can tint with a pencil in color.
6. Prepare a super-finish putty and add a third of the cellulose fiber. Treat the wall between the joints and the edges of the wallpaper with this mixture. Cover the pasted wallpaper with paper so that the solution does not get on them. Align carefully with a spatula. Paint the surface of the wallpaper. This method is effective, but costly.
7. Decorate the joints in separate fragments or colored stripes. Looks interesting with edging or borders.

To avoid joints, read the instructions for the selected wallpaper, do not open windows and doors for a day, do not save on preparing walls, be sure to ground them.
