The tile for a bathroom or kitchen is one of the most common finishing materials and many prefer to carry out installation independently. Of course, if you have the skills and experience in this niche, then you can safely get to work, but if you are not familiar all the nuances and subtleties, then for starters you need to study everything in detail or even seek help from to a specialist.
It is worth knowing that not only installation requires compliance with all requirements and rules, and this applies to it and grouting. You do not need to do this work immediately after the tile is completed.
When do I need to grout seams?
After the main work on the decoration of the premises has been completed, you need to bring it to its logical conclusion. To make the surface absolutely smooth and even, it is worth wiping all the seams. And here you need to carefully read the instructions on the bag of tile glue or other mixture used. It shows the terms of complete drying of the composition and in most cases it is required to wait at least a day. Already after 24 hours, you can grout. Of course, previously you can carefully clean all the seams, since after complete drying this task will be quite difficult. And you should not neglect the preparation, as you will not be able to provide the necessary insulation and prevent the ingress of air and moisture. After all, if this happens, then with a high degree of probability mold and fungus will appear. And the remnants of glue can interfere with the performance of the work with the highest quality. It is recommended to clean the joints after 6-8 hours after the installation process, this is enough time for the material to firmly fix on the surface, but the glue will not dry completely yet.

As for the size of the seam itself, it can be 3 millimeters, this is the standard width with a surface width of 60 centimeters maximum. It is problematic to grind a narrower seam so that in the future moisture does not get under the tile.

How to choose a suitable grouting material?
In today's market there is a huge selection of such materials and in most cases they are based on cement. This option is considered practical and affordable, but there is one thing, it is advisable to use this option in dry rooms. Otherwise, the best solution would be an epoxy grout.
