Everything becomes much more complicated when the cut should be curly. You can’t immediately make markup on the panel. It still won’t be accurate. Instead, it is better to take a thick cardboard, cut it in the shape that you want to get. Then put on drywall and already then transfer the markup.

Drywall - the material is not the most dense, so it can be cut even with a simple hacksaw. The main thing is that the teeth on it were not too large. The hacksaw is ideal when the panel needs to be cut in a straight or slightly curved line.

To make a curly cut, it is better not to use a hacksaw. Instead, the owner should arm himself with an electric jigsaw.

It is simple to work with, but you do not need to turn on the tool at full power, otherwise the drywall sheet may crack. Even during the cutting process, goggles will be needed, since particles of the gypsum layer sometimes scatter in all directions.

Stripping the edges of drywall

Now it remains to prepare the chopped piece for laying. After cutting along the edges of the drywall sheet, not only roughness often remains, but also ugly chips, which also interfere with the quality of the material to be laid. A file is ideal for trimming edges. First, the edges of the drywall are rubbed with it. But without serious efforts, so as not to damage the product more. And to eliminate even the smallest remaining roughness, you can use an emery cloth.
