Why you should not paint with a brush

In order for the result of surface painting to have the maximum effect, it is necessary to perform work with the help of a high-quality and easy-to-use tool. The most affordable and easiest to paint are brush and roller.

A brush is a base made of wood, plastic or polymer, to which fibers of natural or artificial origin are attached. They are suitable for working with alkyd, oil, acrylic and latex paint. It should be noted right away that in the process of painting brushes, especially low-quality ones, often leave their nap on the treated surface. This is very pronounced when using water-based paint or thick blue and enamel. Unfortunately, such a disadvantage is found after painting the surface. In the process of drying, the paint begins to lose volume and villi appear on its surface. That is why many masters specializing in paintwork recommend using a paint roller as a tool. Working with him is much more convenient, enjoyable and faster. The roller allows you to apply a thicker and more even layer. This is especially evident on an already painted surface, which is devoid of stains and villi, which was mentioned earlier.

If you prefer a brush when working with paint, it is recommended to choose a tool with split ends. This will contribute to a moderate consumption of paint and a more uniform distribution on the surface. Fibers should not break off and have high elasticity. The length of the bristles should not be less than its width. It is best if the length exceeds it by at least 1.5 times.

Another significant drawback of brushes is the need for pre-treatment. The tool you just purchased is not ready for use. In order to start painting, the brush must be treated with a soap solution. This will remove the broken-off bristles, as well as dirt accumulated in it.

When deciding on the choice of a brush, it is important to know that they are of several types:

1. Flat (flute) - suitable for exterior and interior use.
2. Round - are used for painting doorways, window frames and baseboards. Great for small tints.
3. Moklovitsa - this type of brush is most often used for working with large surfaces. The large size of the tool allows you to capture a significant amount of paint, which greatly speeds up the process.
4. Radiator - the handle of the brush is located at an angle, which helps to paint the surface in hard to reach places.

When buying a brush, it is best to give preference to that tool that is equipped with natural bristles. As a rule, such brushes have higher wear resistance, are well impregnated and evenly apply paint.
