Polycarbonate sheets are often used in the installation process of roofing. The material has two sides - the difference between the front side is the presence of a coating that protects from the negative effects of ultraviolet rays.
The installation of polycarbonate is important to carry out in a certain sequence. Its sheets are most often laid parallel to the roof slope, which ensures their reliable fastening and protection against moisture and condensation.

Many have heard that when installing polycarbonate it is strictly forbidden to walk on the material. However, some builders ignore this requirement, as a result of which they encounter difficulties.
Mounting Features
When installing polycarbonate on the roof, the contact of its sheets with elements of wood and metal should be limited. For this, the use of special rubber gaskets is optimal. The thickness of the gaskets should not be less than 3-4 mm.

If the house is located in a sunny area, you can further protect the roofing material from exposure to ultraviolet rays. To do this, it is enough to paint it in a white or other light shade.
Another feature of the installation is a mandatory roof slope of at least 15 degrees. In this case, the greater the slope, the better.
How to mount polycarbonate so as not to step on it?
As already mentioned, it is strictly forbidden to walk on the material, because the influence of strong pressure will cause its deformation. When installing sheets, it is worth using wooden boards. Their width should vary within 50 cm or more. Thanks to the use of temporary wooden beams, polycarbonate can be protected not only from deformation, but also damage to the protective coating.

Also, sheets of roofing material can be damaged by any chemical agents with an aggressive composition. Therefore, they absolutely can not be used in the process of caring for the coating.
In order to protect the material from damage during installation, in addition to using temporary wooden beams, it is recommended not to remove the protective coating. It will protect the surface from the occurrence of microcracks, which will violate the integrity of the entire structure.

If cracks or chips occur, do not hesitate and immediately repair the material or replace individual sheets. All because damaged fragments will not cope with the tasks assigned to them.
