Moisture-resistant plywood is used to level the floors. Modern types of repairs offer many practical options, so top-quality plywood, varnished, is rarely used as an independent coating, but this option is not excluded.

/

Moisture resistant plywood

When choosing, the main characteristics are important:

  • Thickness - the strength of the coating depends on it. For floors, you should choose plywood with at least 16 mm thickness and at least 11 layers;
  • Brand - FC material of medium water resistance. The layers are bonded with urea glue. FSF - high quality plywood with maximum water resistance. The veneer and layers are glued with phenol-formaldehyde adhesive. These brands are recommended for interior decoration;
  • Wood - to cover the floors, birch plywood should be preferred;
  • Quality - you will need plywood 1 or 2 grades. Low grades 3 and 4 will not work.
/

Styling options

On a flat surface, no additional work is required. Plywood is laid on the floor, even in cases where the wooden coating has wear. If the floor has irregularities, installation of a lag for fastening sheets is required.

Concrete base

The surface should first be cleaned and allowed to dry. Before starting the installation, the room is measured and the layout of the installation is made. The largest sheets must be stacked in the center towards the door. Algorithm of actions:

  • Waterproofing - thick polyethylene is laid in strips on a concrete surface. Each strip of material is overlapped - by 3-5 cm of the previous one. The strips are fastened with tape;
  • Cutting - according to a plan drawn up in advance, cutting is done. Parts are cut to be laid around the edges. Solid sheets are stacked in the center. To work, you need a jigsaw;
  • Stacking - it is produced from the center to the walls "unscrewed". The gaps between the sheets of moisture-proof plywood should be a few mm, and between the wall and the sheet - at least 1 cm;
  • Fastening - holes are drilled slightly smaller in diameter than self-tapping screws. First attach the edges, then mount in the center and around it, and around the perimeter. Self-tapping screws must be completely recessed.

Wooden floor

The algorithm of actions repeats the previous version, taking into account some features: in order to ensure that the fasteners do not fall between the boards, marking is needed.

/

After laying, you should raise the edge of each piece, and mark the joints of the boards. Next, marking the fasteners in the form of a grid. The step between the screws (the use of nails is allowed) should not exceed 10 cm. So that the floors do not emit a squeak, the fastening must be done so that the plywood is very tight against the floor.

Alignment with lag

Logging is the most time-consuming and responsible process. Logs - wooden blocks 10 cm wide, 2 m long.

/

Before installation, the lag is waterproofed with thick polyethylene.

The base of the lag is built in the likeness of a grid. Control the correct installation of the building level. The distance between the logs is 40 cm, the cross bars between the logs are set every 50 cm.

/

Plywood sheets are positioned so that the edges lie on the logs. Fasteners are made in all cells of the wooden frame, starting from the edges.

/

All types of laying are used as a basis for a laminate, linoleum, parquet, solid wood board.
