To be or not to be a simplified system for mounting a rack ceiling
The possibility of mounting on an unprepared ceiling and then leveling it is one of the advantages of a rack ceiling, which is difficult to overestimate. Such an installation with the output of the ceiling to one level is possible due to the use of suspensions. They are adjustable in level and smooth out even strong swings.
But, the use of suspensions, even with the minimum permissible length, hides the height of the room from 5 cm or more. This is a significant minus for rooms with a standard ceiling height.
In this connection, a quite reasonable question arises - is it possible to mount a rack ceiling using only stingers without suspensions? The answer will not be unambiguous:
- On the one hand, it is not forbidden to attach stringers directly to the ceiling surface. So even the suspension system itself will be tougher. The height of the room will not be affected. And the savings on additional elements of the mounting system, again.
- On the other hand, if the surface of the ceiling is uneven, then the rack finish will be curved. And this will be very noticeable, since the panels have geometrically verified dimensions. Panels transmit well any surface defects. Therefore, if you install the rack ceiling only on tires, then only on a perfectly flat surface.
Also, one stringer is not necessary if the installation of spotlights is provided. The technology of their installation provides a certain gap between the ceiling surface and the finishing material. Suspensions are also necessary if other communications, for example, ventilation shafts or corrugation from a hood, are like on the ceiling. In such cases, the installation of rack ceilings is the most profitable option for finishing the ceiling, as it can be removed at the right time, repair communications and put back.
