Metal roofing has recently been very popular. When working with corrugated board, there are a lot of points that distinguish it from working with other roofing materials. For example, cutting a relief profile can cause difficulties for an inexperienced master. We will talk about some of the nuances of working with a relief profile as part of this publication.

Nuances when processing corrugated sheets
So, there are difficulties when working with a metal profile, and most often they arise when trying to cut a sheet to size. If the surface of the sheet is wavy, the traditional method using scissors for metal will not work for several reasons:
- The sheet will straighten along the cut line, that is, in fact, deform, the material will deteriorate.
- It is long and difficult to cut the corrugated board manually with scissors. This work will require several people, especially if you need to cover a large area. This method is disadvantageous both in money and in time.
- Scissors for metal will not work properly to cut holes of round and semicircular shape.
- In addition, the scissors will slide off, leaving scratches on the painted surface, which will subsequently become a source of corrosion.

What tools are best used for cutting profiled sheets
For this purpose fit:
- Jigsaw;
- Bulgarian;
- Electric scissors;
- High speed metal saws.

Of the advantages of using the above tools, the following can be noted:
- Using a power tool is very convenient to adjust the sheet - the cut line is smooth and accurate. The work does not take much time; one, maximum two people is enough to complete it.
- As for the difficulties when working with a power tool, the main one is not to deform the bends of the sheet, which are a kind of stiffeners. It is strictly forbidden to cut corrugated board with a gas cutter, since high temperature destroys the paint layer. Simply put, you need to cut corrugated board only in "cold" ways.
- We should also mention the grinder as the most versatile and practical tool. It is almost ideal for sheet cutting, but heats the surface to a temperature at which the anti-corrosion coating is destroyed.
- If a grinder is used for cutting, then you should work with the thinnest cutting disc that the manufacturer only produces. Thus, it will be possible to reduce the heating area of the sheet near the cut line.
- The slice should be immediately treated with a specially designed varnish, which can be bought in the same place as corrugated board.
