Electronic (electric locks) - a modern means of ensuring security, characterized by a high degree of reliability. Most often, this option of locks is used in office rooms and hotels, however, under certain conditions, they can also be installed on the front door of an apartment or private house. Electronic locks prevent unauthorized persons from entering the territory they protect. They can also be used to limit output. The design of such locks can be very diverse, but they all work using electricity.

Electronic locks can be solenoidal, invisible, biometric, electromechanical, combination, magnetic and so on.

Despite the significant differences between different types of electronic locks, they have common elements. First of all, it is a locking mechanism. In addition, there is a reader. This is the name of the sensor, which receives and transmits a signal that the door must be opened. The owner’s identifier can be a code remote control, a remote control, a biometric data scanner, a tablet key, a card or a key fob. Information is read and processed by a special controller. Uninterrupted power supply of the electronic lock is provided by the built-in battery.

The principle of locking and unlocking the door can be of two types - electromagnetic and electromechanical. In the first case, a powerful electromagnet prevents the door from being opened in the “locked” state. In the second, the control signal gives the electric motor commands to extend beyond the bolt of the bolts, which prevent the door from opening.

The operation of electronic locks is relatively simple. The signals from the unlocking key or biometric parameters are read by the receiving sensor. Signals are received from the control controller. After reading them, the controller sends a command to the locking mechanism. In some electronic locks, it is possible to set an alarm if entering the opening parameters is incorrect. When a signal is received, the lock works, locking or, conversely, opening the door.

Electric locks can work with power. The battery is capable of providing the necessary energy for some time if, for certain reasons, the electricity ceases to flow. A small battery is enough for such locks, since they do not require much energy.
