It is generally accepted that bunk beds may only be required for families with weather children. However, the production now produces beds, which will not only help free up space in the room and organize a place for relaxation, games and study, but also much more. The most important thing is to choose the right model.

It is not necessary that the bunk bed has exactly two berths, that is, two beds. On the upper tier there may be a berth, and below a regular sofa or folding bed, a cabinet and a table, racks for storing toys. When the bed is intended for one child, then such models are called the loft bed. Regardless of the age of the child, on the second tier there must necessarily be sides that will not allow him to fall during sleep.

Most often, beds are made of metal, wood or chipboard. The most expensive natural wood products, but they are also the most environmentally friendly. It is best to choose products from oak or beech, pine will be a cheaper material, but it wears out faster.

If you buy a bed made of chipboard, be sure to ask the seller for a quality certificate and hygiene, it indicates the formaldehyde content, ideally it should be as close as possible to to zero.

Metal models are more durable, but in this case care should be taken to protect the sides and railings; for this, special fabric or silicone pads can be used. A high-quality bunk bed, regardless of the material of manufacture, must withstand a load of 300 kg.

The design should not have sharp corners, protruding parts, fixtures. It is best if the bed will be attached to the wall with screws, so you can prevent it from tipping over during especially active children's games.

When choosing a bed, be sure to pay attention to the stairs, abandon the absolutely vertical. The greater the angle of the stairs, the safer it will be, ideally use the steps, but they will occupy much more space in the room.

It is best to immediately buy a mattress with a bed, so you can make sure that it is suitable for a berth. Some models have many additional features, such as built-in lighting, storage boxes linen, bookshelves and much more, but the more additional elements, the higher the cost the beds.
