Sockets and switches in apartments should be located according to certain rules, including convenience and safety of use. In addition, the number of outlets should correspond to the approximate use of electrical appliances.

Planning
Cosmetic repairs are the only way to change the location of outlets and switches. Therefore, it is worth considering well all the key places where sources of electricity are needed. For example, for someone it is important to have an outlet near the bed or sofa, while someone needs outlets in the bathroom or near the mirror. At the planning stage, you can think of anything you want. Also, sockets should be freely available. It often happens that after repairs they are covered with furniture or other objects, all the flaws come from a poor layout.

Placement of switches
The standard height of the circuit breakers is 90 cm from the floor. In this case, the growth of all tenants of the apartment should be taken into account. After repair, the switches must not be closed by a door or furniture.

Switches from the bathroom, toilet and pantry are located outside these premises. And in the kitchen, in the living rooms and bedrooms indoors. Switches for additional lighting can be placed in any place that is convenient for the owners of the apartment.

Placement of outlets
The standard placement of outlets 15 cm from the floor is not always convenient, in this case it is better to focus on your own preferences.
In the corridor, it is enough to place a single outlet 20 cm from the floor, which will be used under the dryer for shoes and a vacuum cleaner, as well as chargers for guests. Usually two sockets are located in the bathroom: for a hairdryer and electric shaver 100 cm from the floor and for a washing machine 60 cm from the floor. In humid rooms it is better to buy sockets with protection.

In the living room, you need two sockets for a TV and a home theater, which should be located based on the location of the TV: the cord should not hang on the floor or sloppily down. For the rest of the electrical appliances, it is enough to place two outlets in convenient places at a height of 30 cm.

The kitchen needs a lot of sockets because of the abundance of appliances: a refrigerator, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, and small household appliances. For the refrigerator, the outlet is placed directly behind it to a height of 80 cm, for the hood you need a power source 200 cm high from the floor. For electric stoves, dishwashers and washing machines, place sockets closer to the floor. For small household appliances, you can bring out one outlet and connect an extension cord to it.

In the bedroom, sockets are located in the immediate vicinity of the bed on each side for bedside lamps and chargers. Special communications with protection are selected in the nursery.
