Sandstone stone - a gift of nature

Sandstone is a natural stone that has not undergone processing and does not have extraneous additives. Wild stone is a type of sedimentary rock that consists of sand grains of various minerals. According to the composition of minerals, rocks are divided into the following categories:

• • Monomictic - one mineral is present in the rock;
  • Oligomictic - there are two types of minerals;
  • Polymict-inclusion of more than three components.

Rocks, under the influence of natural forces, are destroyed over the centuries. Changes in temperature, moisture, wind contributed to the appearance of sandstone. Its deposits were formed in the process of cementing small fragments or grains of sand with different mineral compositions. Their size ranges from 0.1 to 2 mm. The strength of natural stone depends on the cement cementing it. These are clay and limestone, ferruginous and siliceous materials.

The best is sandstone, in which there is a siliceous and carbonate cementitious substance. Clay and limestone are significantly inferior in strength.

Properties and uses of wild stone

The sandstone is rather fragile. The exception is the rocks, which are composed of quartz and mica. Since sandstone is a sedimentary rock, its structure is layered. Under the influence of weather and climatic features, the stone acquired its unique qualities. This is strength, bump, fire resistance. The color of the stone depends on the impurities that are its component. A wide range of colors such as red, beige, brown and all their shades have found application in the cladding of buildings. Sawed, chipped stone - “rock” is popular.

A huge amount of materials is used to equip the home and territory. But natural wild stone is not inferior to its primacy. It is environmentally friendly to humans and the environment. The porous structure and slight moisture absorption allows it to be used in thermal insulation of buildings.

Due to the durability of the stone and resistance to temperature extremes, buildings do not lose the appearance of a century.

Nature generously endowed the sandstone with not only a wonderful physicochemical composition, but also gave it the beauty of patterns, a variety of colors and textures. Therefore, it is used for cladding facades, especially red sandstone and its shades, pools, fountains.

The roughness and various thickness of the stone allow it to be used for paving sidewalks, courtyards, car sites. Tile sandstone is widely used in finishing works. Having a smooth surface in nature, after polishing is ideal for cladding.

Despite the fact that nature over the centuries has created unique patterns, colors, strengths such natural materials like limestone, shell rock, sandstone, granite and many others, scientists have created artificial a rock. It has increasingly been used for cladding buildings. At its core, it is lightweight concrete consisting of cement, aggregate and dye. The artificial analogue is practically not inferior to natural stone in an aesthetic plan. It is quite strong, durable.
