Every year, the cost of energy supply services increases, so the population comes up with new ways to save. One option is to use two-tariff day / night meters with electricity storage.

It’s not a secret to anyone that the load of electric networks depends on the time of day. So in the period from 7 to 10 in the morning, and also from 7 to 11 in the evening it is high, this is due to the massive use of household appliances when people are going to work and when they return home. At night, the load drops sharply.

Due to such sudden jumps in load, about 10 TPPs fail daily, which are then restarted. This creates some difficulties for energy producers. With this regime of heavy loads and sharp recessions, more resources have to be spent, which is more expensive for the manufacturer. To unload the electricity networks, it was decided to reduce the fee for nightly use of electricity, so that part of the electrical appliances could work while people were sleeping.

For this reason, two-tariff counters were created. But still, not many people actively use electrical appliances at night, so many are interested in another possibility of such devices. You can use storage systems to store electricity at night at a reduced cost to use it during the day.

But unfortunately, the purchase of the necessary elements for the drive will cost ten times more than the acquired savings. And the service life of such devices is designed for a couple of years. For such systems, electricity consumption should exceed several tens of thousands of kilowatts.

Conventional two-tariff meter and its savings

The two-tariff meter is set by Energosbyt employee for certain hours of minimum energy consumption. After that, the meter is sealed. For this programming service, the landlord gives from 500 to 700 rubles.

Savings with such meters are not straightforward, but it all depends on the particular energy supplier. Some companies in the budget hours reduce the cost per kilowatt by 30-60%, but at the same time in the daytime they can increase the cost of kilowatts by 30%.

It all depends on the specific region. In some companies, the cost per night kilowatt is reduced by exactly half, which is undoubtedly beneficial. It is especially important to have two-tariff meters for the winter, when there is not enough central heating power, and you have to use heaters.
