First way

If the sewage system in the house or apartment is at the laying stage, then you can consider installing special pipes. They have three layers that absorb noise. The inner one is made of polypropylene, the middle one is made of polypropylene reinforced with minerals for noise absorption, and the outer one is made of impact resistant material. The cost of such pipes is high, so it is not suitable for every case.

Second way

The most common and easiest way to reduce noise is to soundproof an existing pipeline. To do this, use a special material created under the shape of the pipes.

Most often, foamed polyethylene or rolled foil material is used. To choose the most suitable, you need to look at the characteristics in the label, paying attention to the ability to absorb decibels. Also, the stiffer the external sound insulation base, the longer it will last.

How to make noise insulation with your own hands

For noise insulation of sewage, it is easiest to wrap the pipe with insulating material, for this foam polyethylene will be used.

To begin with, the surface of the pipes is degreased with suitable solutions. Vibration-damping material is applied to the pipes to cope with structural noise. It is pressed tightly to the pipes with a roller to remove all bubbles. Next, foam polyethylene is taken, which wraps the riser and is screwed onto clamps or construction tape with a step of 5 cm.

The procedure is repeated with all pipes of the sewer.
