There may be several reasons for the plug not being plugged in. Standard option 4. Consider the reasons in more detail, and describe the solutions to problems.
Different size
The most common in our country are 3 types of plugs for electrical appliances:
- C1-b - these are all familiar old collapsible forks. Twists the base of 2 plastic halves. The diameter of the pins is 4 mm, the power of the device is up to 6A, without grounding;
- C5 - the situation is the same as with the previous instance, only the case is cast, the plug does not disassemble. Pins with a diameter of 4 mm, power up to 6A;
- C6 - plug diameter 4.8 mm, instrument power up to 10A, can be performed with a grounding element.

As can be seen from the sizes, the plugs C1 and C5 will perfectly fit both old and new sockets. But the C6 plug will not fit into the old outlet.
If you do not want to change the outlet, then simply file the holes in the old one with a file, having previously removed the plate from the wall. It should be remembered that you can plug in the device more than its rated power, which over time will have negative consequences.
Import option
Different countries use different plug options. European or American plugs are absolutely not suitable for domestic outlets. In this case, you can not try to insert the plug, even if you manage to cram, it will not work anyway.
The adapter will help, it can be purchased at any electrical store. Also, a solution to the situation may be to replace the plug on the cord. It is important to know what power the device is designed for and whether there is a need for grounding.
Child protection
There are sockets with special plates - child protection inserts. While the device is new, the plug enters without problems. But over time, the outlet openings become clogged with dust, small particles of dirt and plates stop moving to the side and passing the plug pins. The way out in this situation is to remove the socket plate and clean the holes.

Breakage
Sometimes for some reason, the plug pins get deformed. In such a situation, the plug will enter the socket very tightly or not at all. Moreover, it may happen that even after the plug is inserted into the outlet, the device does not work. In this situation, it is important to understand what the reason is in the plug or in the outlet. Connect another device to the network, if there is power, then the problem is in the plug and it should be replaced. If both devices do not work, most likely you need to repair the outlet.
