To date, there are two fundamentally different door designs by the type of opening - swing and sliding. The latter began to gain popularity not so long ago, but not all buyers are eager to purchase them. Why do many people think sliding doors are not a convenient option, but what indisputable advantages do they have?

Disadvantages of Sliding Doors
One of the main drawbacks that make swing doors uncomfortable is poor heat and sound insulation. The usual design of the door leaf does not imply tight closure, which in this case can be achieved with gaskets and special niches where the folds are hidden.
At the same time, swing doors in absolutely any price category will fit snugly to the opening and it will be much easier to seal them if the factory dimensions are not enough. The prices for accessories and the doors themselves for sliding options are much higher.

The strength of the sliding door leaves much to be desired. The canvas absolutely does not withstand shock and pressure from the outside. If one of the owners decides to close the door more strongly, then it can go off the rail. In this case, the repair process will be long and not so simple. Thus, it is better not to put the sliding cloths in the apartment where the dog lives, which can easily break the closed cloth, trying to open it with its paws.

Many questions arise to what sounds the door itself makes. Whatever rails and guides are selected, there will always be sound when opening and closing. Also, if guides are made on the bottom, then you will have to constantly monitor their cleanliness, otherwise the door will begin to move poorly.
If the doors are installed along the rails only at the top, and below have a free structure, then such sheets will be particularly unstable to mechanical stress.

Benefits
There is one indisputable plus of sliding structures over all their shortcomings: in some conditions it is simply impossible to use swinging canvases. Sliding doors cannot be interchangeable in conditions where swing doors absorb space. This is especially true of kitchens and halls.
Also, the sliding mechanism is indispensable in the halls, where the useful space is eaten by the wing sash. Such designs are necessary in offices and stores, because they reduce the risk of injury.

Also, with the help of sliding doors, it is effective to carry out zoning in small apartments, where the use of swing structures is impossible.
