Looking at his apartment, with numerous protruding pipes, wires, and God knows what, I want to sew it all with drywall. And then there will be perfectly smooth walls, without any protruding elements. Surely everyone wants to do so. Just for starters, you need to figure out what can be hidden under the plasterboard partitions, and what is absolutely impossible.

Specialists in building technologies highly recommend not covering heating pipes and radiator batteries with plasterboard designs. There are several reasons for this:
- The most important thing is the reduction in heat transfer by the radiator. When mounting the box on the battery, the heat loss is doubled. It will simply go into the wall and into the street. Because of this, the room will become noticeably colder, the humidity level will rise, which, in turn, will begin to negatively affect the entire interior decoration of the room. The list of possible further consequences can be continued for a long time;

- Limited access to connectors. Almost every year, the connecting elements between the radiator and the pipes require routine inspection and tightening. If this is not done, then in the future, leaks will begin to appear. In the presence of a plasterboard box, it becomes extremely inconvenient to work with the main metalwork tools or, it becomes completely impossible. The problem with leaks also applies to the radiator (cast iron and aluminum). The box will interfere with the removal of the battery for repair or when carrying out repairs directly on the spot;

- Restriction of access to locking elements and air vents. With the beginning of the heating season, it is often required to discharge the air jams formed in the system. Very often, the discharge of air is accompanied by the release of water, this can greatly damage the drywall. And this is again the repair and additional costs. Sometimes the heating system needs to be flushed; for this, connect a hose to the outlet valve. The presence of a drywall fence will make it impossible to carry out this operation.

It is worth noting that to sew electrical wiring under drywall is also not recommended. It is best to bring it out and mount it in special cable channels. Follow these recommendations, and the risk of getting into an unpleasant situation will be significantly reduced.
